~ the next day ~
the inhabitants of the house left early for school, with the exception of patton.
using his car, roman drove virgil and logan to their school with an enthusiastic expresion while virgil simply smiled as he watched the view from the car's window on his side. logan's rather bored look remained on the other hand. it seemed that school was unamusing to him.
once they reached the school, roman parked and stopped the car in the parking lot next to the campus. the three then left fhe car and started walking to the front of the school, where it's main entrance is located. there were countless students either talking in groups at the stairs or entering the school. from nerds to jocks and from the least known to the most popular.
when the three walked up the stairs, many of the students glanced at them. it was no surprise to the three, really.
roman, it was obvious. he is one of the richest students in the school and maybe, one of the most dashing and charming men there. most of the girly girls who saw him enter the campus swooned and felt a sense of helplessness. roman couldn't help but wink at some of them, his pride fueled a bit.
logan on the other hand was more of the talk of jealousy from the other smart students in the school. he was mostly first place in class and he didn't even have to try so. he was a natural intellect.
finally virgil, was not as popular as the two but was well-known from the music-loving students and art students for his hidden talents. sometimes, he got involved in rumors that he and roman are in a relationship, which was mostly believed by jealous girls. of course, it wasn't true.
yet.
the three then headed to their respective classes once they got in the campus and parted ways. logan and roman were in the same year while virgil is two years behind them.
when logan arrived in his first subject's class, he sat in one of the unclaimed seats in the back, since the front and middle seats were already taken by earlier students. he then took out a book from his bag and began reading.
"that looks like a nice book. what'cha reading?..." a smooth voice suddenly asked logan from beside him. logan looked at the person next to them. great, just the person they needed to see.
logan put in a bookmark in between the pages that he was currently reading before closing the book and revealing the front cover. the book was entitled 'the adventures of arsene lupin'.
"care to tell what it's about?" dee questioned. logan thought for a moment before speaking. "well, it's about this man who is a gentleman burglar. he is also able to disguise himself as anyone....."
logan's voice trailed off when he noticed something about the person next to them. he then adjusted his glasses and gave dee a close scrutinizing look, standing up from his seat. dee stepped back a bit, feeling his personal space getting invaded a bit. he tried not to show his discomfort, his expression not changing.
"looking for something?" he asked the intellect, who makes an expression of uncertainty before quietly sitting down on his chair. "no, sorry. you just...look familliar."
logan could've sworn he saw that face before, without the bandages on one side.
dee shrugged. "it's totally fine. i'm quite a sight sometimes." he simply said, his tone not changing in the slightest.
"anyways, you could talk to me more after class. farewell for now~.." he said before leaving logan be and returning to his own seat.
logan watched the familliar-looking brunette return to his own seat before opening his book and reading once more, momentarily distracted for some reason.
--------------------------------------
after some hours, school finally ended for the three.
when roman and virgil arrived at where the car was parked, they found logan, who is for some reason already there. "hey logan, you're early than usual..." virgil said, looking bewildered.
"thank you for pointing that out, virgil. anyways, i just want to return to the comfort of my room. today was..how do you put this..." logan took out a notebook and scanned through it. he then looked back at virgil and roman.
"..'hella shit'." he continued his sentence.
in actuality, he just wanted to see patton again.
virgil tried not to smile while roman stifled a laugh. "alright you intellectual thot, get your ass in the car. we're going home." roman said with a smile.
