I... I don't actually know if I'm dreaming or not but.. Haha.
When I first decided to write HDYWILY, I didn't actually think anyone would bother reading it or like it so much. I got inspired to write it in the first place after I plunged in "straight' into the Thomas Sanders fandom, jumping out from the Eddsworld and Undertale fandom (I'm still into those but I'm more focused on Sanders Sides lately).
I got heavily inspired by stories, games, musicals, and music like Dear Starboy, DDLC, Hamilton, Distance, Her Final Words, and Melanie Martinez.
Each chapter, I always listened to a song that fitted it best. Sometimes two songs.
Honestly, this story became a big part to my improvement on writing. Right before I started writing again and writing this, I was more on literate roleplaying on UT Amino and making fanart. I actually didn't imagine back then that I would return to writing after my big flop on an old FNAF book of mine (It's terrible, don't read it).
When I first planned out the story, I actually had alot of the early ideas scrapped. At first (when I haven't thought of a good title), I thought of making Logan blind. Instead, I thought of making Patton the one with the disability. I rewatched the Nostalgia episodes in SS with an unhealthy number of repeats and I took note of stuff.
Another thing I wanted to add in the story but scrapped later on was the death of both Patton AND Logan. When I first posted the cover, I immediately worked on a parallel of it because I first planned to kill off Logan and Patton at the end.
The reason I drew the cover like so is because of the planned deaths. Then again, minds change.
When I felt like I wanted to have a sequel, I had a choice to kill off just one of them. :/
