days after the tour, things continued to become worse. for patton, at least.
the unexplainable difficulty in breathing and the emptiness in his chest began to become difficult to mask. his once twinkling eyes dulled out a bit and he became less enthusiastic.
when no one is looking or if he is alone, he would drop the act and show his true emotions.
his smiles slowly became less frequent and his laughs are forced now.
it was like everyday, he drifted further away from the others.
he also began losing hours of sleep, causing him to fall asleep for short periods of time during the day. his hands slowly became more and more tired. tired of writing for someone who probably wouldn't notice how much he is in pain.
tears streamed down the mute's face after the point of his pencil broke again because of his bubbling emotions. he wanted to scream out everything he was feeling. every single thing he wanted to tell his friends and especially logan.
every single word that he wished he could utter without difficulty.
patton's hand shook a bit as he took a cookie from the plate of cookies next to the paper he is writing on, taking a slow bite out of the treat.
even after eating the cookie, he didn't feel his spirits rise, unlike before.
his eyes searched around his room until a small grey box under his bed caught his attention.
he stood up from his small chair and approached the box, kneeling down to grab it from the under the bed.
after he got the said box, he opened it.
looking inside the box, he felt a wave of dread wash over him. at the same time, he felt like he found an old friend in the box.
