XANDER'S POV:

The next morning I woke up feeling rather fresh. That's weird because all night I kept tossing and turning in my bed trying to find a comfortable position to sleep but it never came. The moment I shared with Eva kept playing in my mind over and over like a video. I honestly don't know why I did what I did. I need to have a grip on myself. She just came back. I've always had a little crush on her. little. I just couldn't believe my eyes, I needed to feel her because everything felt so surreal at that time, us being attacked, the possibility of Anna being kidnapped or worse and her return. It was all very overwhelming. I shook the thoughts away and went to bathroom to freshen up. We have a long day today. I also need to make some security arrangements and a few other chores. I showered quickly and changed into a white button down shirt and navy blue slacks with brown designer shoes. I rolled my sleeves till my elbow and left the first two buttons of my shirt, open. I checked the time and it was 8:55. Everyone must be waiting at the breakfast table. I went downstairs and into the kitchen seeing mama, papa, Leo and Anna on the kitchen Island. We had breakfast together on weekends I mean not the huge mafia family, just us.

"Good Morning everyone." I greeted everybody kissing mama and Anna on cheek which earned me two cute giggles. Girls and their giggling I mentally rolled my eyes.

"How'd you sleep?" Leo asked wiggling his eyebrows at me. questo stronzo. He knew about my little crush on Eva.

"I slept just fine, Leo." I replied annoyingly while stuffing pancakes in my mouth. He snickered but didn't say anything further, thankfully. Our parents looked confused at the exchange between Leo and I but didn't pry. I took a sip of my coffee and wiped my mouth with a napkin.

"About yesterday, I will go out and make the necessary security arrangements also I need to do a weekly check on the warehouses and the drug shipment that came in yesterday. I already booked the venue for little one's birthday party so Leo will go and make catering and other arrangements and then little one and I will go for cake tasting." I winked at her and she grinned.

"I'll text you the venue." i said to Leo and he nodded.

"We have a meeting at 5 with Papa Luigi every important person has to be there. Sicilian Colombian capos will be there too." Dad said looking between Leo and I and we both nodded our heads.

"I am going out today with Xenia. She'll pick me up around 12 in the noon." Mom added.

"Where are you guys going?" Dad and I asked at the same time. Mom gave us a stern look.

"We're not children who needs to inform their parents of their whereabouts." She sassed. I just shook my head while Dad looked at her in disbelief.

"We were under attack just yesterday so excuse me if I am being cautious. You will inform me of your whereabouts also I'll send ten guards with you it's not safe out there." he said with finality in his voice.

I heard mom mutter something like 'girls need privacy' but dad shushed her. When we were done with breakfast dad called me in his office to discuss something 'important'.

We entered his office, which was located on the first floor next to his room, and I plopped down on the couch.

"What you said to her yesterday was totally unacceptable. We do not disrespect the dead ones. She's not an orphan, we are her family and you better treat her with respect. Don't ever think that just because you're my son, I will ignore your mistakes. Say that again and you're out of the house and the business." Dad said in a voice that left no room for argument.
