XENIA'S POV:
I was on my way to meet Frederick to get some information out of him about a person who was working for Michael. Parking my car outside a diner, I made my way inside and spotted him sitting in the last booth.
"Hey. How are you?" I asked placing down my phone on the table.
"I'm good Signora, how are you?" he asks and I shrugged in response.
"The house has been quite silent ever since you left that day." he informed and I only gave him a blank look.
"How's mom and dad? Anything new?" I ask relaxing back in my seat and he nods.
"They're good and yes Leo was attacked the other day but nothing major happened." he informed and my eyes widened.
"WHAT? Why didn't you inform me earlier? Is he okay?" My eyebrows furrow as he chuckles lightly.
"As I said, nothing major happened, he didn't have any security when he left the house but he took them down easily." he said and I nod.
"How many?" I asked further.
"Only two." he replies and I sigh in relief.
"Did you find the guy who's working as the bag boy for him?" I asked and he took out an envelope from his suit jacket.
"This is him." he slides it towards me and I open it to see a man in his early thirties.
"Name?" I ask still looking at the pictures.
"Trevor." he says sipping on his coffee.
"Found the location he goes to?" Placing the picture on the table, I looked at him.
"No, unfortunately but I do have something else that could be of use." he smirked and I mirrored his expressions.
"Always something." I say to him while shaking my head with a small smile.
"He's going to be at our club tonight." he said not meeting my eyes.
"I'm sensing a 'but'?" I narrow my eyes.
"Yeah, Xander, Leo and his friends are going to be there as well." he sighed and finally looked up.
"Oh." Is all I say.
"You going too?" He nods at my question.
"Well, see you there Frederick." I wink at him and walked out after grabbing my things and leaving a very shock Frederick behind.
Frederick was the man who always kept me to up to date about what's happening even when I was away in New York, he continued his duty. He's in his late thirties and is married happily with two kids. He's the most loyal and dedicated man I have so far.
It's been officially a week since that incident and I've been staying in one of my hotels. Asher and Ver knows about my location and let me tell you they were not so happy with me after what I did. Of course I was expecting that. All they want for me is to be happy and settle down with a man who deserves me and that man happens to be Xander, obviously. Why did I say no? Michael was there and so was another guy which by the way I haven't found out anything about, let alone a name. I know he's working with Michael. But yet again, I don't have any proof. I can't risk someone else's safety specially if that 'someone' is Xander. I just can't. Say yes to him and watch him die in front of your eyes. No thank you, I've had enough of that. My heart broke too and I can't do anything about it until everything else is sorted. Believe me if he had done that separately and not in front of anyone, I would've jumped on his bones. I felt almost every emotion swirl inside of me at that moment. I felt special and content for the first time in my life but my happiness was short lived. The moment I saw Michael's face I could sense the wheels spinning in his head, hence the reason behind my rejection.
