XENIA'S POV:
Without thinking much, I lunged at the boy and started punching him in the face mercilessly. He groaned but didn't resist much.
Looks like he knew, he made a mistake. I was about to go again when he whimpered for the first time.
I wiped the blood oozing out of my knuckles by rubbing them on my shirt and looked at him.
"You did it, didn't you? You fucking traitor." I spat at him.
"Did you kill him?" he asked and my jaw clenched.
"You have some audacity to ask me that when I am sure as hell, you heard the gunshot loud and clear." I narrowed my eyes and he looks down.
"Why did you do it? Who do you work for?" I asked knowing fully well he won't tell me.
"I'm not a part of it. You have to believe me." his voice didn't waver, he didn't beg instead he was calm. Very, very calm.
"You think I am going to believe your lying, manipulating, traitor ass?" I backhanded him.
"Being his twin doesn't mean I am involved in the treacherous acts he committed. I will admit that I knew but I found out recently. Roughly two, three days ago. I threatened to expose him but he blackmailed me." he coughed and hissed.
"What did he blackmail you with?" I asked not believing a single word.
"My girlfriend is pregnant." he gulped and spoke quietly.
I took a step back, my emotions trying to surface for a second but I hold them back in their place. Emotions should be hidden, emotions can lead you to destruction in Mafia. Emotions displays weakness sometimes and people easily take them for granted and use them against you to their advantage.
When I didn't speak and kept looking at him with a calculating gaze, he took that as his cue to continue.
"And if you let the wrong person walk out of these cells, I'm done for." he looked at me dead in the eye.
"Why will I trust you? After all, you share the same blood." I shrugged.
"You can do whatever you want, keep me under watch, bring my girlfriend or mother here until you think I am trustworthy and my loyalty lies here, in this Mafia with my Don." he finished.
Fair enough.
I moved towards the second man then third then fourth whose gaze made me feel uneasy.
"What's your name?" I asked confidently, nonetheless.
"Alexander." he told matching my confidence.
"Give me one good reason to trust you." I asked and he shook his head.
"I have been working here for the past five years." he stated casually.
"I was born in the mafia." I retorted.
"I don't see them questioning you." he said nonchalantly.
I punched him square in the jaw and took out my dagger jabbing it in his lower side.
"I asked for a fucking reason. Don't try to be smart with me." I said and twisted the small object making him wince in pain.
"Believe me it's not me. Please." he begged pathetically but something about him already set me off.
"Five years in the mafia yet you still don't know 'believe me' is the most stupidest line ever." I said and took the dagger out.
"I'll do anything to make you believe me." he pleaded but I stabbed him in the arm and dragged it down till his wrist.
