XANDER'S POV:

As soon as those words left her mouth, I felt a pang in my chest. This is unfair to any child, not knowing where their parents lay buried. I felt sympathetic and-

"DON'T. FUCKING. PITY. ME." she spat bitterly and I was taken aback for a second due to the amount of venom that came out of her mouth along with those words.

She was right I felt sympathetic towards her and kinda pitied her too but not in the negative sense. My face must have said it all.

"It wasn't my intention." I said composing myself. She rolled her eyes.

"So?" she asked expectantly.

"Sure, be ready tomorrow morning at 8 sharp. I'll pick you up." I said and with one last glance, I walked out.

Before she disappeared, our relationship was similar to Tom and Jerry's. Always arguing and fighting, she was quite infuriating back then and my little crush on her didn't help either. She always looked for ways to rile me up. And I just wanted to tie her to the fucking bed and have my way with her. She is submissive. One thing I know will never change about her. Leo and her used to team up against me. I remember once she put lemon and chilli in my face wash. My face was as red as tomato for three days and it fucking itched. I felt her heartbeat accelerate every time I held her waist or wrist or invaded her personal space or whenever I used to drag her to the dance floor for a dance during galas. Her jasmine scent, the way she throws her head back and clutches her stomach while laughing, her eyes tightly shut. The way she winks and pokes her tongue out like a child, the fire in her veins used to shine brightly in her eyes, it's a total contrast to her now empty and cold eyes. Wow I just realized something. I sighed heavily and got out of the car. My mother was sitting on the couch near the fireplace, eyes closed but posture stiff meaning she was awake.

"Hi mom" I greeted her.

"Oh Xander you came. I was waiting for you, come sit." she said leaning forward.

"Sure." I made my way over to the couch and sat next to her.

"Where's your father?" she asked taking my hand in hers.

"He'll be coming later. Had something important to discuss with Papa Luigi" I replied. She hummed and looked deep in thought.

"What's up? Are you tired after a long day?" I inquired.

"No no I had an amazing day after so long. I actually feel really relaxed right now, physically."

"Physically only?" I raised a brow at her statement.

"There's something I've been thinking." she said. Here we go, I knew she was overthinking.

"And?" I asked.

"Let's have a cup of coffee." she said and got up. I followed suit. We entered the kitchen and she asked the staff to leave.

"Just like old times" I grinned.

"Just like old times" she giggled. Whenever we wanted to catch up, she would bring me to the kitchen and make us coffee.

"So? what is it this time?" I asked sitting on the counter top. She glared at me and I smiled sheepishly in return.
