ASHER'S POV:
I was driving home now after our little meet up. I really do hope that she doesn't shut Xander out. That man is head over heels for her, I can see it in his eyes, the way he looks at her as if she is IT for him. Even before, he used to steal glances at her when she was not looking and all this time she thought he never noticed her. He was the first to notice her, every single time. The amount of admiration he held for her was astounding. I am beyond honored at the fact that she let me in after Adrian. Of course the special place she had for him in his heart can't be filled but I'm glad that she let someone other than him, in her heart and opened up once again. I am so proud of the woman she's become today, she's so much stronger than before. Life's been pretty hard on her. I pray she finds her home one day.
XENIA'S POV:
My doorbell rang and I rushed to open it.
"Hey" he said as soon as I opened the door. I hugged him as tight as possible. He stilled but a few moments later I felt two strong arms wrapping around my waist and I sighed deeply.
"Hey" I mumbled in his chest.
"Are you alright?" he asked running his fingers through my hair.
"Mm, I am." now. I smiled and snatched the flowers that he hid behind his back. He chuckled and I pulled back.
"Let me put them in the vase" I said and ran inside. When I came out again, I noticed what he was wearing.

"You cleaned up pretty well" I said, smirking at him.
"You look beautiful, as usual." he replied taking my hand and walking towards his car. I smiled softly and looked ahead.
He opened the car door for me and I slid inside saying 'thank you'
"So? where are you taking me?" I asked after he settled in the driver seat.
"Somewhere important" he gave a short reply and started the engine. I sighed in defeat knowing he is not going to tell me anytime soon and looked out the window. I felt a hand intertwining with mine and tears pricked my eyes but I looked away immediately. I can't unlove him but I can't express my feelings either. I came here with a purpose. I have target at my back. I can't drag him into this mess. Soon he will become a Don and he will have enough enemies waiting in line already. Tomorrow is Anna's sixth birthday and also the celebration party for the new capo. Papa Luigi asked for a meeting but I called him saying I need a day or two to which he thankfully agreed. The car came to a halt and I found myself surrounded by trees.
"It's a good place to dump a dead body." I looked at suspiciously which earned me a hearty laugh.
"You should laugh more often." I said cutting his laugh short and surprising the both of us. He raised a brow at me but I cleared my throat and got out. He came behind me and his scent immediately engulfed my nostrils.
