Anakin was becoming impatient. So far, he had not found anything that could be considered helpful in finding Sidious, and it was getting on his nerves, not to mention they only had so long. He still needed to find a concrete way to save Padmé. Then there was the Council, which was alright but never seemed to truly respect his ideas, or him for that matter. There was also the fact that everyone seemed to be warning him away from Palpatine.
Palpatine....
In the recent weeks, Anakin had been paying more attention to the Force, which had in turn had lead him to see flashes of malice in the Chancellor's eyes. Sensed double meanings and hidden intentions to some of his statements, similar to the ones Luna sometimes came up with and Anakin sometimes noticed, but with far....darker intention. Anakin was beginning to wonder if he knew Palpatine as well as he thought he did and if there was a part of himself that the Nabooian senator usually kept in check.
But in the long run it didn't matter, Palpatine was a good man that Sidious must have found a way to trap in the original timeline. The Empire was the Sith's creation and not one Palpatine would ever be willingly part of. It was also part of the reason Anakin was getting frustrated at how hidden Sidious was. How could he protect those he cared about if he didn't know where the phantom menace that posed the real danger was?
Not that he had decided to voice his thoughts with Luna, or at least not right then. She seemed to be fairly preoccupied with the prospect of meeting the Chancellor, and Anakin didn't want to make her worry about meeting with him any more than she already was.
He might ask her opinion later though....
