THE FINAL CHAPTER
"And then what happened to the Princess and her Prince Charming, mama?" the little girl beside her snuggled up to her.
"Well," she sighed and caressed her hair, "Although they separated ways, they still lived happily ever after."
The little girl frowned and played with her fingers, "But why?"
"What do you mean why?" she asked.
"Why didn't they end up together? That is what happens in most of the love stories, mama."
She chuckled. Her 4-year-old daughter speaks like a grown-up lady already. She is thankful that she grew up intelligent but having to deal with all her questions and curiosity most of the time makes her crazy, "Well, anak. Just because the princess did not end up with her prince charming doesn't mean it's a sad ending. Just because they did not end up together doesn't mean they could not have their happy ending. Losing someone you love doesn't always have to mean suffering. Losing someone means letting go of the pain and embracing the future ahead of you."
"That's still sad, mama."
"When you grow older, you would understand what it means to live without the prince charming you thought you'd spend the rest of your life with," she intently told her daughter whose head was resting on her chest.
"How about you, mama? Is papa your Prince Charming?"
She smiled as his face popped into her mind, "Yes. Do you want to see your papa today? You miss him, right?"
"Yes," the little girl clapped her hands and eyed her. She was drowned for a moment. She is lovely. Her eyes are as lovely as his father's. Whenever she looks into their daughter's eyes, she gets reminded of him.
"Let's go. Let's see him today."
Quickly, she stood up and went inside the bathroom to take a bath.
She couldn't believe that it has been years and that their daughter is growing up too fast. Time flies and it seems like everything just happened yesterday.
She went inside the bathroom to bathe her daughter who is happily looking forward to seeing her dad today.
Unique with his band went to Pampanga today for a special event so he could not drive for them just like what he always does whenever he is free.
Lea had to drive today. She turned the music on and her daughter personally requested for her favorite song:
Pulled the windows down
The night was young
So we'd hide under sheets
Until the dawnWe were calling out
Familiar thoughts
When we'd find spaces
That we'd once dreamed ofBright eyes, taking in
Wondering, wondering where it begins
Quiet sky, open mind
All of fear cast aside
