"Where do you want to go first?" Tracey asked. They all had bags full of money for spending, and while they did have to get all of their supplies, there was enough money in the bags for a few treats.

"I think we should get all of our school supplies first," Millicent suggested. "That way we don't have to worry about rushing."

"Sound good to you, Pans?"

"Sure."

They went to all the shops for school besides Flourish and Blotts, because that place was crazy crowded and they didn't want to deal with that. Well, Tracey did, but she was argued against. They were all having dinner at Diagon Alley, so they'd have time to go back and get their books after the signing closed. The actual store was open until 8:00 pm.

"Pans, do you need water? You're looking a little red."

Pansy looked down at her arm. It was looking a bit dry.

"Yeah. Let's go to that cafe. Want to split a large cinnamon roll?"

"Yes please."

The three Slytherins headed into the Witches' Warmth cafe and ordered their cinnamon roll, and Pansy got a bottle of water. They sat down at a table and started ripping chunks off of the bun.

"I've missed sugary foods so badly!" Pansy said around a mouthful of sticky goodness.

Millicent nudged her. "You had some at my house, Pans."

"That was a week ago!"

Millicent rolled her eyes. "I'm sure it's not that bad."

Pansy sighed. "It's really not. Mum and Dad are great, and Hermione's been awesome about the whole thing. I'm sure she's glad to get a break from me once in a while though."

Tracey gave Pansy a look. "Drink the water."

Pansy groaned but took a swig. She felt better almost immediately. She didn't even realize how bad she was feeling before.

Pansy looked out the window. She wondered what Fernand was up to now that he was by himself in the house. Then she decided that she didn't care.

"Millie, when do we get to come to your mother's house and see your dogs?" Pansy asked.

Millicent shrugged. "Whenever you guys want, really. I'm at Mother's all this week and half of next week."

Tracey played with her wand a little. "I can't wait until I can use this again."

"You don't have the wards?"

Tracey shook her head. "Neither does Millicent. Only the old pureblood families have them, and we're both halfblood."

Pansy made a face. "I never knew that. I thought all rich people had them."

"You think I'm rich?" Tracey raised her eyebrows. "Are you serious?"

Pansy frowned. "You aren't?"

"I'm not poor, but I'm nowhere near as rich as Millicent's family," Tracey said. "High middle class."

"Weird. How did I not know that?"

The rest of their snack was slightly awkward, with too long pauses between people talking. Pansy wished she had never made the rich people comment. How was she supposed to know that Tracey was that kind of halfblood? She always wore what looked like expensive dresses to the balls. Maybe they were rip off brands. If that were the case, her jewelry was probably fake too. Pansy had had no idea. Tracey had never mentioned her financial situation, so Pansy just assumed that she was like the rest of them and had enough money to buy whatever she wanted. Maybe that was why she never asked any of the older kids to get her something from Hogsmeade when they went. Hmm.
