"Platonic"

Platonic
A new word I learned
It means intimacy
Between friends
But this intimacy
Is special
Because
Of what it doesn't
Entail
There is no sex
It pushes the boundaries
But never crosses the line
That would jeopardize the relationship
It would no longer be platonic

It would be something new
Something fun
Something scary
Something grand
Something non-platonic too

We are
Platonic
In nature
Can things change?
Are they meant to stay this way?
If we stand the test of time
Maybe
Maybe we can try
