When I finally remembered what had happened last night, I decided to ignore my headache and explore my surroundings. As soon as I stood up, I felt light-headed. Not that it was an abnormal feeling for me, because I did have a history of fainting since I was pretty young, I just didn't expect it to hit me that fast. I sat back down instantly and got up again, only this time slower. I walked myself quietly over to the door and opened it expecting it to creek when it opened, since I had always grown up in older homes. Thankfully, it didn't and I found that the stairs were all of 5 meters in front of me. 'Well that's safe for someone who has a hangover.' I thought to myself as I made my way down the stairs trying not to slip because I did have a habit of that. I pushed through a swinging door carefully so as not to hit anyone if they were on the other side. I poked my head through to see what's-his-name just staring at me as if to say 'Come on in, I don't bite.' I shuffled through the door and looked around to take in exactly where I was.
"So, Soph, did you sleep well?" said that familiar voice.
I turned around so quick and must have looked so shocked that he knew my name and I didn't know his that it sent him into fits of laughter. "How do you know my name?" I questioned as soon as he had quieted down.
"Well, if you remember last night we were dancing and then we started talking at the bar. You told me your name and I told you mine, but by the expression on your face I take it that you don't remember, since your friends did spike your drink with vodka and leave you there." he replied.
"Those... those... UGH!" I whisper yelled as I sat down at the breakfast nook, which once again sent that boy into hysterics. And I have to say that his laugh was quite infectious because I had started to giggle along with him. "I don't know what's so funny?" I said smiling slightly, already knowing what his answer was probably going to be.
"Nothing, it's just you." Yup. That was it.
"Okay, well I guess it must be true because I don't remember your name and I feel awful about that. But you do look extremely familiar. Are you sure that I've never met you before?" I replied. At that moment, I looked at my phone that had just buzzed, and it hit me like a bomb. I jumped up, not even noticing that he had walked over to the table and he grabbed me as I ran into him. "Oh, my god... I'm so, so, so sorry that I didn't recognize you." I pleaded as he just snickered at my reaction.
"Its fine love. I'd seen your phone light up earlier and knew that sooner or later you'd recognize who I was."
As soon as Nathan had said that, the guy that I was talking to earlier the evening before walked into the kitchen and I realised that it was Tom. 'OMG, I'm in The Wanted's house and I most likely slept with Nathan last night and oh good lord, Tori must have come home with Tom last night because she was dancing with him!' Of course, just as all of this was running through my mind, Tori walked in sleepily and said good morning to all of us, not noticing me at first. She did a double take of me still in Nathan's grasp and stared at me like she was dreaming.
"Morning Tori." I chirped.
"Oh my god, Soph where did you come from?!" she nearly screamed at me while bounding over and hugging me like there was no tomorrow.
"Well, remember how you guys decided to spike my drink last night and then proceed to abandon me?" I enquired while wriggling out of her death grip. She nodded sheepishly while looking at the tiled floor of the kitchen. "Well, I met Nathan when I was dancing and we started talking. You, as well as the others, proceeded to leave without me and Nathan said I could go home with him and he would take me home in the morning." When I said the second part Tori gave a look to Tom who then continued to look at Nathan with a half "Nice job!" and half "I'm ashamed of you" look on his face.
"No!" Nathan nearly yelled at Tom, and all of us except Nathan started cracking up at his reaction.
"So, Tori exactly how did you get here?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow, once she had sat down with Tom's arm around her waist. She wasn't usually the type to be front and centre with the guys, or in general. I mean ever since we became friends in sixth grade, I've had to push her a little to have some fun. It was hard enough as it was trying to convince her to come on this trip, let alone go to the club last night. I never thought that there was a side of Tori that would go for a guy like Tom. But hey, never judge a book by its cover.
"Well..." she started, "I was dancing and since I had a drink earlier I was a little light headed. I met Tom when I was outside and we started talking. Later on, he asked me if I wanted him to walk me back to our hotel. I forgot where it was exactly and he said that we were pretty close to his place and he offered for me to stay here for the night. So... yeah."
"Ohhhh." I said sarcastically, dragging it out with an evil smile on my face.
"Nothing happened!" she yelled at me in almost the same way that Nathan did at Tom a few minutes earlier. We all started laughing our heads off and she started to turn bright pink.
"Awe, baby. It's okay." Tom said while pulling her onto his lap and kissing her cheek.
"Awe, baby. It's okay." Nathan said mocking Tom, but pulling me onto his lap instead and protectively wrapping his arms around my waist while looking into my eyes. I felt a smile tug at the edge of my lips. I began to get a little self-conscious and looked down at my nails that I had done just two days before but were already chipping, when I heard some footsteps leaving the kitchen. I looked up just in time to see Tom dragging Tori out by the arm, who was staring at me and winked just before the swinging door shut her face out of view.
I heard a small yelp and then Tori yelling as quietly as possible for Tom to put her down while there were footsteps going up the stairs. I looked back to Nathan, whose lap I was still on, to see him still staring at me. I soon looked away, but this time he moved my face back to his and kissed me on the cheek. I could feel my skin turn a few shades pinker as I hopped gracefully off his lap.
As I got up, he took hold of my hand and stood up so that my back was against his chest. "What did I do?" he said smiling with confusion as I turned around not realising exactly how close we were to each other.
I put my free hand on the back of his neck. "Nothing," I replied as I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek, and whispered in his ear "Thank you" before letting go, turning around and going back upstairs to get ready for the day.
