Chapter 26

As soon as I closed my eyes the questions and statements started flying. After about two hours of her questioning and me attempting to answer before she was able to ask another one, she finally went back out to see if the show was getting to the end.

I figured it must have, because all of ten seconds later, Nath came flying in with a huge grin on his face. I held up the note while we just smiled at each other like we were insane.

“Seriously?! The UK and Europe?! Plus a demo?!” I asked as I set the note back down and walked over to him. “Well, I guess I’ll be taking online courses then, won’t I?”

As soon as that passed my lips, he picked me up and spun me around before setting me down. I rested my arms around his neck and smiled at him. Sooner than I could think his lips were on mine. It took me a moment to melt into it but as soon as I did, we were in sync. It was just about to get deeper, until I knew where it was going and pulled back, knowing that everyone would be here any second.

“People are about to come in.” I said quietly as I grinned slightly and pulled away. Just at that moment my father came bursting in followed by at least a dozen others. I knew them all and said hello as they all congratulated me and said that they never thought that I would be a performer.

I quickly introduced them to Nathan and they were all talking so I excused myself and Daddy into the hall so I could talk to him about the offer. You see, I didn’t get the ownership of the stores until I was nineteen, and had finished my first year of university successfully. My father really stressed this to me every moment possible.

“Daddy, I have to tell slash ask you something.”

“What is it?”

“Well Jayne…”

“Oh yeah I met her coming in. She’s very nice and she loves you.”

“Yeah, well she offered for me to open for the guys around the UK and Europe when they’re finished here. And she also told me that she has a demo set up for the next time I go to London. She said that the label would like to have me sign with them. I was wondering if that would be okay because I could take online classes and I would try my best and make sure that I always got my work in and…”

“Baby that’s amazing! I can’t believe you’ve been offered a record deal. I couldn’t be happier! And if you go touring, I don’t care if you don’t get to college for a few years. I just want you to be happy and I can tell that you’ll be happy with Nathan. And here,” he said as he pulled out a business envelope from his back pocket. “I want you to have these. You’ve earned them.”

I took the envelope and opened it up, not knowing what it was until I unfolded the thick stack of papers. I read over a few words and quickly realised what they were.

“Oh Daddy thank you so much! I thought that I wouldn’t get these for another whole year! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” I screamed as I jumped on him, giving him the biggest hug ever. I ran as fast as possible to the boys’ dressing room screaming my head off for Tori.

I lost my heels in the process but flung the door open and screamed her name. She jumped up, obviously freaked out by me and the guys were just staring at me like I should be in a mental institution.

“TORI! I OWN THE WHOLE COMPANY! MY FATHER JUST GAVE ME THE OWNERSHIP OF THE STORES!”

She just looked at me in disbelief with her jaw on the floor. She shook herself out of it and ran over to me as we both screamed bloody murder and jumped up and down holding each other’s shoulders.

She knew that this was a big deal for me because I was supposed to have to finish at least a year of college before I could get them. I stopped jumping before I screamed again, took a glance at the guys that were just looking at me like I’m crazy, and ran out the door. I calmed myself in the hallway for a moment before I went back in my dressing room.

I came in and after a few minutes of talking to everyone and questions being asked, they all said their goodbyes and it was just me and Nath again. I grabbed my sweats and tank before I changed and he did the same. After, I just flopped on the loveseat and stared at the papers as I flipped through them.

“What are those?” he asked while coming over and sitting next to me.

“The titles to the stores.” I answered as I just kept staring in disbelief at them.

“Seriously?! I thought you said that you weren’t getting those for another year?”

“I wasn’t supposed to but he said that he was proud of me and didn’t care if I waited to go to university.” I said calmly as I set them down on the coffee table and curled up to face him.

I put my arms around his neck and he pulled me onto his lap.

“So I guess it’s gonna be you, me, and Paris when we go.” I said as I smiled gently.

“Or it could just be me, you, and a hotel room in Paris when we go.” he said cheekily.

“Oh, that’s all you think about!” I said as I tried to hop off his lap, but he held me in place.

“Perhaps it is, but I know that you think about it too.” And with that, he kissed me roughly. I had never seen this side of him, but I kinda liked it…
