The next day was just a normal day… scratch that, nothing in my life can be called normal any more.

Well, it was pretty normal for what’s been going on the last month or so. The boys and I had a sound check, which they obviously messed around during, and Tori and I messed with them. It was quite hilarious to see their faces when they were finally serious about practicing and we decided to mess with their ear buds.

Tori and I were able to tap into Tom and Nathan’s individual ear buds and talk to them. The only problem for them was they couldn’t respond. Therefore, we could say anything we wanted, and they had to hold their tongues ‘cause they were in the middle of an open sound check.

Tori was having fun while I watched them and could tell that Tom was getting really irritated and finally caught on. I sent him a text saying that Nathan was next and he just smiled evilly at me and then glared at Tori who was backstage. I watched Nathan for a few more minutes before going backstage and grabbing my mic that was now hooked up so only Nathan could hear. I started with an everyday question to see if he’d answer it out of sheer habit.

“Babe, do you want some tea?” I asked like I do everyday.

“Sure.” blasted through the speakers of the stadium and I covered my mic as I laughed my head off and Nath looked dumbfounded as well as some of the fans. He eventually caught sight of me and just sent an extremely long death glare. I walked out of sight and into his dressing room so I could have some more fun with him. I had one of my earpieces in so I could hear what was going on but he still couldn’t talk to just me.

“Nath, baby…” I whispered seductively into the jewelled mic.

I soon got a text from him saying ‘not know love. and if you don’t stop then you’ve got it in for yourself tonight.’

“What have I got in for myself?” I said innocently through the mic.

I got another text shortly after reading ‘you’re killing me right now.’

“Babe, you know how much I want you right now.” I breathed.

This time I heard a loud groan from the earpiece. Alright I can’t hold it any longer. I started laughing like a maniac.

I decided to give it a rest because it was my turn to practice. I made my way on stage and made the extremely smart decision of hanging my ear buds around my neck. This way I could hear the band, but not the guys if they tried our little trick.

I started with some warm ups and was about to go into ‘Fighter’ when the band started playing ‘Glad You Came’. I looked back at the band and Murray smiled and nodded towards back stage. When I looked, I saw all of the guys laughing, apparently thinking that I couldn’t sing it. Obviously, they were headed by Nathan, so I just gave him a sarcastic smile before going into it.

I knew this song by heart and it was a cinch to make it my own. At the pause between the chorus and second verse, I sent a smirk to the guys who were now strategically placed behind the fans. All of them but Nath had their jaws on the ground. I knew that he was just waiting to see what I did with his second solo; little did he know that his part was the first part I learned of the song.

Turn the lights out now

Now I’ll take you by the hand

Hand you another drink

D- d- d- drink it if you can

Can you spend a little time

Time is slipping away

Away from us so stay

Stay with me I can make

Make you glad you ca- ame

I sang it the exact same way that Nath sings it with his spin. Plus just to make it better, I can only say things the way that I first heard them, so I sound like I’m a full on Brit when I sing their songs.

By this point Nathan’s jaw was also on the floor. You see, he never heard me sing ‘Glad You Came’ like that, he’s only heard the version when he played it on the piano back in London. I finished and the small crowd of girls went wild. I gave a little curtsy and a smug grin to the boys who were completely stunned.

I got back to the songs that I was supposed to do and once I got those done with, I went back to the dressing rooms.

I walked in and braced myself for what I was going to get next. From both the boys and Tori, because she’s never really heard me sing like that either.
