(Context: My cat named Tachi or Tachibana ran out of the house and was lost. She still is, but when I found out, I wrote a poem about it.)
Would I have named you any different
If I expected you to leave us soon?
No.
The name fits you,
Your three legs and strange air-licking
Thing you do.
There is always the fear that you'll never come home.
I know I left you,
But I have never stopped loving you.
Come home, Tachi.
I want to see you hop around the kitchen floor
And meow as if you're dying for food.

ŞiirI've never been a poet, that much is certain, but I can tell you that it does get written. A lot. These are the collections of my poetry I've written, and some of them hit hard for me.
