Part IX~Meadow Pack

As the three of them moved away from the other territory, did they begin to form a rather special bond. Mamba would probably never admit it, for he didn't need any help from others of his kind. However, his views began to somewhat change slowly yet surely. Nimbus was the only elder out of them, and had far more experience. It was easy to see that the elder was rubbing off on Mamba.

The lone male was now, not alone and had two raptors who wished to aid him. Of course he had wished to start a pack before which would make his old pack look like a joke. Now it seemed that he was starting to get his wish.

Many moons went by for them, and it quickly became much more. Their wounds began to heal, and their strength returned as well. Talon's hope and comfort had increased for she felt that she truly belonged with the two. Having been alone for so long, it was a big change but it was something that she was quickly warming up too.

Nimbus was glad to see her happy and he was further impressed with how much Mamba began to change around them.

Mamba still had his aloofness but he seemed far more calmer than before, and he even began to speak up more about certain things. Nimbus could see that he was becoming a little less selfish and was thinking firmly about his actions. He acted but not recklessly.

Before they knew it they found a place to call their own, it was in the heart of the grazing lands. Long tall grass, open meadows, comfortable shade of trees, and a waterfall that was in the center of the meadow.

It was then that they decided to come to terms with being a type of pack, for the three of them had been through a lot. Course, they didn't doubt that Bael would be coming after them in the future. It was just a matter of time.

Mamba was then asked to be their pack leader, and he accepted the rank. Nimbus was there at his side to give guidance and he didn't mind to being just a elder. Talon was asked to be a Beta but she turned it down politely, for she didn't really think that she had what it took to be the Beta. She however did say that she would rather be the lead hunter.

Mamba didn't really argue with her, she could do whatever it was that she wanted. Their pack was merely talked about for it needed a name, and Talon clicked excitedly that they should be known as "The Meadow Pack."

By being called that, they could be safe from curious ears. It was more of a cover up than that of an actual name. Mamba didn't care and Nimbus seemed to like the name rather well. Since Bael was looking for them, this could actually work in their favor and thus buy them sometime.

That and they were in their own territory and away from the territory that belonged to Bael and his pack.

While hunting one day the three of them found a raptor who was heavily handicapped and bleeding. He was a dark brown color with black tiger like stripes throughout his form who was freshly missing his entire left arm. Nimbus decided to aid the male who was slowly bleeding out.

Mamba didn't trust him when they brought him back home but that soon changed throughout the coming weeks. The male was a kind raptor who was very grateful for them, and well he was just a teen. Talon liked him, much like Nimbus who was curious to how he lost his arm.

Adonis who was the teen spoke of being attacked by an allosaurus and as he escaped he lost his arm in the process.

With the support of the three, Adonis recovered and even joined their pack who he was grateful too. Mamba could see some potential in the teen for he was very intelligent as well as he was fast. Though he had one arm, he still knew his way around hunting and didn't let his handicap get in the way.

Their pack was very different from each other, and yet they completely complimented each other. The pack was made up of four members, all of which had different skills. These different skills actually went well together when they hunted, and they were able to bring down a meal just about every single time.
