One week later

Madeleine's p.o.v

Maddy arrives today, finally. I'm beyond excited of seeing her after so long, she'll finally get to meet Wyatt and Calum

Calum brought me to the airport and he was wandering around here with Wyatt. He was dressed low key, a jacket, sunglasses and a black cap, even though our son isn't low key, I hope he doesn't get recognized. I have nothing against the fan asking Calum for pictures, in fact, it makes me proud and excited, it's just that I feel today is going to be such an special day, that I want it to be intimate. When I see that people are starting to come out from the gate I start to look for Calum and mouthing "come here" I was beyond excited and I wanted them to be here, he smiles and comes closer to me, kissing me quickly

—You're happy. Aren't you? -he says smiling-

—Way too much! I need to see Maddy already -I turn my eyes towards the gate-

A couple of minutes went by silently till I finally see a blonde haired girl, I squeal jumping a bit and hitting Cal's arm

—There she is, Cal, there she is! -Calum laughs and takes his phone out-

Maddy was looking me through the people, when she finally sees me, she starts to run towards us. We melt into a tight hug, I hear her sobbing and I realize that I was sobbing too, when we separate and see Calum, he was recording us, chuckling. He locks his phone to put it back in his pocket and gives Maddy a hand shake

—Nice to meet you, I'm Calum

—And I'm your girlfriend's best friend, Maddy -we laugh- and you must be baby Wyatt -she grabs Wyatt's cheek- I'm your auntie -she says in a childish voice-

The happiness was escaping from my chest, I felt almost complete. I needed Maddy's presence back in my life more than I thought I did, I can see us shopping on the evenings, touring around Sydney already. I was totally excited

—Mad, I still have a surprise... Bet you can't guess -I open my eyes in surprise-

—You're pregnant? -I ask the first thing that comes through my mind, imagining a friend or cousin to Wyatt-

She laughs but denies with her head. I was confused, what surprise?

—Turn around and you'll see

I was about to turn around when a couple of hands covered my eyes, this is definitely a man... And it's not Calum, obviously. I take his hands and take them off my eyes, finally turning around, I felt my heart drop to the floor, I felt my body tingling and the excitement from the previous seconds had faded away. I saw Calum and he had his jaw clenched, God, I can already intuit that this will give me trouble. What was Joseph doing here? We were only friends when I was back on England but we stopped talking when I came back to Australia, we never spoke, I thought that friendship was lost and the last time we talked, he was reproaching me about my relationship with Calum and the fact that I got pregnant. Joseph always felt something for me and I knew for a fact he came here to look for trouble

—What... What are you doing here? Hey -I say clearly uncomfortable-

—I wanted to surprise you, I supposed you'd like to see me as much as I'm pleased to see you -he smiles, but a malicious smile-

—Oh... I get it -that was the only thing that came out from my mouth- Come, let me introduce you to Calum -I stand beside Cal- Joseph, this is Calum, he's my boyfriend -I try to make as clear as possible that Calum and I are still in a good position in our relationship- Babe, this is Joseph, he's a friend -I say, the share a handshake, Calum was looking into Joseph's eyes but he wasn't holding Calum's glare, he wasn't even looking at his face-

What did you do and why did you accepted Joseph coming with you, Maddy? You already ruined everything

—By the way, he's our son, Wyatt -I say, making sure he actually gets we're a family-

—How cute -that's all he says-

Great. We start walking towards Calum's car, he helped Maddy with his luggage while Joseph took care of his. I put Wyatt on his car seat, and proceeded to sit down next to Calum on the passenger seat, leaving Maddy, Joseph and Wyatt on the backseat

—And well Joseph, where are we dropping you at? -Calum asks looking at him through the rearview-

—Oh, me? Maddy didn't told you?

—Told us what? -I ask intuiting what was about to happen-

—I'll stay at your house, Maddy told me you had a spare room where she'll be staying to why not make everything more nice?

I turn to see Calum, he was clearly tensed, his hand was squeezing the steering wheel, his jaw clearly clenched. The rest of the way was totally quiet, except from Maddy that was telling stories about college, but I was kind of ignoring her since my mind was busy trying to figure out what was planing Joseph against Calum or me. I still don't get why he'd come after years of not talking
