..in hell.. This means Hell is a Place. Hell is more than just imaginative word, it is Real. Just like you have people in Nigeria, same way there are people in Hell.
..being in torments.. Hell is a place of Torments. I know a lot of "picturative" description of Hell show a place burning with unquenchable fire but is more than that. Because someone can be alive now and be in torment and that doesn't mean the person is in fire.
Torment in English is a state of worry and unhappy especially by our own feelings of guiltiness. But in Hell you have no right to your own feelings. It is a place of deliberate act by demons.. Hell is a place of torture that will cause you great pain and suffering. You will cry out for help but no one will hear you.
There in Hell many people will wish to die but death won't come. Hell is an eternal place of pains and suffering.
