And Jesus spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, "God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. (Luke 18:9-13 KJV)
So wonderful that Jesus himself Postulate this Parable, it has being my greatest Revelation in my Christian walk of faith. It makes me realize that whatever I am, whatever I maybe, whatever the blessings and prosperity I may enjoy in life... All is by the Mercy of God.
The more I realize that is by the mercy of God then, the more humble I should become, the more loving I should be, and the more mercy I should have toward others who are not of my standard.
Yes, I am that Publican Jesus was referring too, not because I read bible more, not because I read my textbooks more, not because I pray and fast more.. Is all by the MERCY OF GOD upon my life.
Thank You Jesus for Everything. This is my Story, This is my Song.
