Throughout that night the king was unable to sleep, so he asked for the book containing the historical records to be brought. As the records were being read in the king's presence, it was found written that Mordecai had disclosed that Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs who guarded the entrance, had plotted to assassinate King Ahasuerus. The king asked, "What great honor was bestowed on Mordecai because of this?" The king's attendants who served him responded, "Not a thing was done for him." (Esther 6:1-3 NET)
Most times I ask myself again and all over again "What kind of Generation are we living in..?? A generation that want rewards for every kind-gestures, and if you refuse to "pay" the person, you sure be in hot soup.
Mordecai save the King from assassination and was not rewarded! And the funniest thing is that Mordecai didn't went about blackmailing the King or the kingdom.
You called yourself a Christian, if your Pastor won't "pay" you for services you won't play Instrument in the same church you're shouting Praiseeeeeee God
Can't you sweep church without expecting pay? Can't you help your fellow brother or sister without expecting pay? Is not always about Money.
The King didn't reward immediately but there's something he did.. He wrote it down so he won't forget. And at the right time, the Book of Remembrance was open before the King and Mordecai was remembered.
There's something greater than "pay".
