Don't know where to start from but I need to start from somewhere as Inspiration comes.
People gave different reasons for their backsliding which to me is not even the problem.
No prophecy ever came from what a person wanted to say, but people led by the Holy Spirit spoke words from God. (2 Peter 1:21 NCV)
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing people what is wrong in their lives, for correcting faults, and for teaching how to live right. (2 Timothy 3:16 NCV)
The Bible we confess and profess was not written by "EDUCATED MEN" neither by "Philosophers". The words of the Bible were inspired by Spirit (Holy Spirit). There's Spirit behind those words no matter how simple the Scripture may seem.
Man is divided into two parts; his physical body and his Spirit. The word of God is meant for Man's spirit (because the word itself is from the Spirit), not for Man's senses.
It is Man's spirit that got born again not man senses. If a man spirit actually born again, no matter how rough and tough the man appearance may look is just the matter of time because...the spirit is what will give life to his physical body.. Romans 8:10
But if Man sense got born again and not his spirit, he may look good outside, mode of dressing may change, but not too long he will go back to his former state.
No man of God can collect cigarette from a smoker, he can only preach the word of God to that smoker and allow the Spirit to take over.
If a smoker throw away a cigarette because he saw a Man of God, he is only afraid of the Man of God not the word of God. When the Spirit takes over, it doesn't matter the closet he may find himself, that urge will not be there again.
The Spirit behind the word of God is what change a Man. It is this same Spirit that guide Man everywhere he find himself.
Man will continue to backslide over and over again until the Spirit takes over.
Yea, Nine years ago I gave my life to Christ. No doubt there are challenges, I make mistakes, I make wrong choices at times, I'm not perfect, I don't deny my errors and my wrong. But here are words that kept me going for Nine years
"For God so loved you Williams, that he gave his only begotten Son, that if I believe in him I would never perish but have Everlasting life" John 3:16
My Spirit responded Yes! I believe. Even though I didn't understand it then.
If you're backslide I have a Good News for you! Get back to God's Word.
My Man of God Rev. Chris Oyakhilome will tell us..
"If you stick to the Word, you will come back with a testimony.. What God want to give you is not a car, what God want to give you is not a house. What God want to give you is God's word in your Spirit.. It will make you what it talks about"
Finally, "For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. (1 Thessalonians 1:5 KJV)
