There's this believe that is common among people but it is Evil. When someone offend you for an example; in latter times you heard that the person fall victim to whatsoever, we tend to derive joy from such bad news thinking it's as a result of what they did to us.
When you think like that, Satan is been glorified and justify of his Evil. Same time, he's making you a victim by letting you go against God's Word that says.. "Love does not delight in evil.. (1 Corinthians 13:6 NIV)
These happened in the days of Jesus and Jesus rebuked them. David could have rejoice over the Death of King Saul, rather, he lament over it.
"Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! ... Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them-do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish." (Luke 13:1-5 NIV)
Always remember it is the Mercy of God that keep us alive not our own goodness.
It is not because someone offended you that they suffer whatsoever they suffered, you could have been the victim yourself if not for the Mercy of God over your life.
