The car ride to our destination is quite long. So for the moment, I handed over a few albums I own to Niall so that he could choose one that he liked and play it in the car for now.
I waited patiently with my eyes still focused on the road, and my ears listening to the sound of Niall opening up a case and taking out the cd from inside it.
The Beatles started playing, but Niall was quick to skip most of the songs from the album before landing on a specific one, which was probably his favorite because I am pretty sure I heard a small squeal leave his lips as soon as the song started playing.
Hey Jude was the choice he had made. The two of us hummed to the lyrics in a soft tone. The music calmed the ride a whole lot more than it already was before. It was nice; just the two of us enjoying each other's presence with The Beatles playing in the background.
I glanced over to Niall's direction to find him with his head leaned back in his seat, his blue eyes closed, and a small smile at his lips as we both continued to hum to the song.
I turned my head back to road, noticing the dark night, and that we were very close to our destination.
Soon enough, the long and calm road, turned into a bumpy mess. This caused Niall to pop his eyes open in shock and hold onto my arm for dear life. I laughed because I had the same reaction the first time I had ridden through here. (leaving out the whole holding onto someone part, though.)
I finally parked the black Impala a good few feet away from the edge of a high mountain cliff.
❝You're not planning on driving us off this mountain edge and killing us, right?❞
I laughed, ❝Those are definitely not my plans at all.❞
❝Harry, this is pretty scary and creepy. You're not going to rape me, are you?❞ Niall signed with shocked eyes and I couldn't help but laugh again.
❝Niall, I promise I won't rape you. It only looks pretty scary because we're still in the car. You haven't seen everything just yet.❞
Niall gave me a raised eyebrow, ❝What do you mean?❞ I smiled.
I exit out of the car, -leaving Niall without an answer- and I walk over to his side and open the door for him while holding out my hand. Niall hesitates, but takes it anyways, shutting the door behind him as he does.
Before he could turn his head over to the sight in front of us, I quickly covered his eyes with my palms.
"I'm going to remove my hands; but I want you to keep your eyes closed, okay?" He nodded.
Slowly removing my hands from his eyes and making sure that he wasn't peeking, I quickly scurried to the back of the Impala and grabbed the objects that I needed. I laid a blanket at the hood of the car and set a picnic basket beside it.
I make my way back to Niall and I place one of my hands over his eyes (even though I knew that he wasn't looking) and he places his smaller one over mine.
I grab his free hand with mine, and I carefully lead him closer to the edge of the mountain cliff, our backs facing the picnic that was set behind us.
"Open your eyes, now." I quietly, but still loud enough for him to hear, whisper, before removing my hand from his.
I could see in Niall's eyes that he was in complete awe.
I had always found the sight in front of us astounding, and I was glad that Niall seemed to love it just as much as I do.
The city lights flashed throughout the dark night, making the scenery breathtaking.
My hand was still tangled with Niall's, so I softly tug it and he looks over to me. I nudge my head towards the picnic and he smiles his perfect braced smile.
