Arriving in a limo,everyone looked at us and of course I fidgeted.
"Hey, Don't be nervous .Carry yourself with grace" Reece said. Same thing he said when I was about to read my valedictory speech on my graduation. But this was entirely different. There, he was the guest of honour but here, he was accompanying me.
Reece came out of the vehicle,followed by me. Everyone gasped as they saw, not just him, but us, together.I couldn't blame them.Seeing a man of a high standard with a student like me wasn't something you'd see on a normal day. Which reminded me, I hadn't asked him on what made him so important that a school would invite him as guest of honour. What made him so popular?,Where did he get his money and his cars from?. Certainly not from being just a gym instructor. I made a mental note to ask him later.
"Heyyy girllllllll,You look gorgeous.you're the talk of the entire prom!!!! " Amber and Kayla grabbed me by the arm and pulled me away.
"Girl what happened,after and before the exams? you just disappeared. Have you been avoiding us?" Amber said.
"No,of course I haven't been avoiding you guys".
"Then What?" Kayla asked "Are you okay".
"Yes I am. I just had a lot on my plate"
"If you had a lot to handle.why didn't you call us?.We would have helped you-"
"Heyy Ava ,there you are!. I've been looking for you" Reece said pulling me away from them and whispering "You can thank me later" to me l.They both gasped when the saw him. Especially Amber.
"Hello Sir" Amber said,bringing out her shaky hand for a handshake.That was the second time I'd seen Amber nervous in my entire life and the two times were both caused by him. "I-I'm the girl whose dress you took the other day".
"Oh Hi. Amber right?" he asked, flashing her, his award winning smile and she nodded "It's a pleasure to meet such an amazing designer" he added.
"Really?!.Thank you so much. I mean i'm not that good..." Amber said. Kayla waved and grabbed my hand,leaving Amber and Reece to their conversation.
"I don't know where Dave is.I've been looking all over for him" Kayla said and I just stared at the floor ,Remembering that Dave and I hadn't spoken for a long time and I really missed him.
"Look,I know you guys haven't spoken to each other for quite a while now ,but he's still your best friend" she said.
"Where was the last place you saw him?" I asked.
"Well he was standing beside Amber and I" she said, thinking "But it looks like when we all saw you and Reece.He disappeared."She thought out loud.
"Something must have upset him.I'm gonna go look for him. Stay here". Before I could say anything,she left me. I looked around. Amber was introducing Reece to a group of people. Since I had no one to talk to,I decided to go get a drink at the mini bar.
