The three sat in an uncomfortable silence for a while. Deceit kept trying to distract himself by drawing on the whiteboard but all the doodles looked the same; crying mismatched eyes.

Deceit let out a silent sigh as he erased his scribbles with the sleeve of his shirt. The Red and blue ink mixed together and created a purple blotch on his sleeve.

Purple...  Anxiety's favorite color...

Anxiety... Virgil...

He needed Virgil...

Deceits eyes began to tear up again and he quickly wiped them away before anyone can see. He quickly scribbled words down and hesitantly tapped on Patton's shoulder.

How's Virgil doing? Is he alright?

"Virgil's fine. He's asleep in his room. Why are you so concerned about him anyway?" Patton gave him a confused look. He knew the two had a hiss-tory together but neither of them told him anything.

We used to be friends before he left us. I was... Mean to him but we all were mean to each other.. You see what mean is when it comes to the dark sides.

Deceit gestured towards his shut mouth. If he's being honest—which he is—he's scared of Patton and how he might react. Patton was like a rubrics cube to him; hard to solve but still possible.

Patton's eyes darkened a bit. "Well, it's up to him if he ever forgives you, but if you dare hurt my family..." Deceit gulped and absentmindedly shrunk into himself.

Patton looked too much like him. Sure, Deceit was Patton's opposite, but he is the only one that can pull off the Patton Glare™.

Patton returned to normal and gave him a gentle Patton the back. The threat left unsaid but not forgotten. Deceit flinched under his touch; partly because he was afraid, but mostly because of a fresh bruise that was on his back.

Roman, Deceit noticed, looked like he was ready to slice the snek boi to pieces if he just so happened to step out of line. This made Deceit shrink into himself even more.

He instinctively curled in a ball despite the pain, and expected to get yelled at.

I'm sorry! Please don't hurt me! I didn't mean to make anyone upset!

Deceit hid behind the whiteboard as he showed the other two sides what it read.
