"Deceit..." Patton spoke softly, his eyes showing an emotion that Deceit was unfamiliar with. "We're not going to hurt you..."Deceit looked at Roman, their eyes meeting, before the snake looked at the floor. Roman sighed quietly. He hadn't meant to come off as scary. He just wanted to protect his family.
"mornin'" a voice mumbled from the stairs. The three snapped their heads towards the voice and saw Virgil zombie walking down.
"Hey kiddo!" Patton greeted, forcing a smile. Virgil gave him a concerned look.
"What's wrong Patton?" Virgil asked, rubbing his eyes.
"Nothing kiddo, we were just talking." Patton replied, giving Roman a look. Roman nodded.
"Y-yeah. We were just talking." Roman smiled. He shifted from one foot to the other uncomfortably. Virgil gave him a suspicious look.
"Talking about what?" Virgil asked standing in his spot on the stairs where he would be in Thomas living room.
"Well kiddo...." Patton moved so that Deceit was no longer hiding behind him.
Deceit waved shyly at Virgil, scared of what he would do.
Virgil started laughing, holding his stomach as he did so.
He finally got what he deserved! Virgil thought.
