Beep beep beep

I groaned, burying my face in my pillow, taking my hand out to search for my alarm. I finally finding, slamming my hand down on it, making it fall down on the floor and I heard a crash. I quickly look down, seeing it had fallen apart. Well, at least it stopped beeping. I yawn, grabbing my phone, seeing I had half an hour before I had to go. I jumped up, I had forgotten to set the timer right. I run to the shower, quickly taking one, wrapping a towel around my hair as I took on some clothes, running downstairs. Ten minutes. I grab something to eat, the towel still around my hair. Just then, I got a text, me grabbing it.

Can't wait for tonight :-*

I smile at the text, it making me stop my movement. I can't either xx, I text back, smiling like an idiot, when I realize I was supposed to leave now. I cuss, running upstairs to quickly throw off the towel, brushing my hair, running down. I quickly put on some balarina shoes, grabbing my purse before running out to my car.

Arriving at work, a security guard was outside, me looking at him weirdly as I made my way to the door. "Ma'am do you work here?" he asks as I walk pass him.

"Uhmm, yeah... Who are you?" I ask, looking at him.

"I'm the new security guard," he told me, giving me a small smile.

"About time. Thank you." I gave him a smile, making my way inside. Sabrine was standing there, smiling at me as I came up to her.

"About time," she spoke. "Mrs Carell is about to freak out, some of the girls has gotten food poisining from a bad burger place yesterday."

"Yeah, I ran a bit late today." We quickly ended our conversation, me changing into a new set, taking a robe around me. "Hey, Mrs Carell."

"Oh Eleanor! So good you're here! Listen, I need you to work a bit later today." I froze.

"How later?"

"At least till 8pm."

"8?! I have a date at 5." Mrs. Carell just shrugged as if saying I'm sorry. "Can't it wait till tomorrow?" She shook her head, taking her hand on my back as we made our way over to the photographer.

"No, I'm sorry, but it can't. You're gonna have to cancel." I can't cancel. I want this date. And if I cancel on him, he might think it's because I don't want to at all. He just got me to go out with him, what wouldn't he think if I already canceled on him?

"Okay, can I just make a quick phone call then?" She just nodded, me sighing as I grabbed my phone, dialling Michael's number.

"Hey!" he spoke, and before I could get a chance to speak, his mouth made sounds again. "Hey, I was just wondering, do you need me to pick you up after work? I mean, if those guys are still there-"

"Uhmm, we've gotten a security guard now, but... Mike, I have to cancel..." I squinted my eyes closed, fearing his response.

"Wh-what? Our date?" I could hear the disappointment in his voice, which made me want to cry. I take a deep breath.

"Yeah, something happened, so I won't be off until 8 at least. Look, Michael, I'm sor-"

"It's okay, it's okay." It wasn't okay, I could hear it in his voice.

"Mich-"

"It's okay... I'll talk to you later." Before I could say anything, he hung up, making guilt form in my stomach and I began feeling sick. I take a deep breath, putting down the phone. I woul dhave to try and call him later or tomorrow, I just hope that he understood that I really didn't want to cancel on him. I really wanted to go on that date, I just couldn't today.
