As Michael told me would happen, we hadn't talked for a few days. I tried no to think of it too much, but with Maddie not even in New York, it was pretty boring.
Maddie... How was I gonna tell her about Jack? We hadn't talked much either, other than a few text conversations here and there. I had told her about Michael and I's dates, forgetting the fact that we were officially together now, her telling me about how it was to see Katie again and about Boston.
I sat by my computer, tapping my fingers on my phone. For some reason, I had a feeling that Michael would text, but that was a feeling I had gotten used to since meeting him. He would constantly text me, even if it was just random stuff. I think one of the texts I had gotten most from him would be a text, just saying "cheeseburger". I still find it weird that he likes the word. I mean, most people would say they loved to eat it, but he likes the actual word. But it made me laugh anyways, and it mostly started a conversation. A conversation about how weird he was.
The sound on my computer suddenly went off, me looking and seeing it was Maddie. I got excited at one point, but a pang of guilt formed in my stomach. I took the mouse over and clicked accept on the screen and soon Maddie's face came on my screen. "Hey!" she speaks, and I can just hear that she's having the time of her life, was I going to tell her that Jack was cheating now.
No, I was going to tell her once she got home again. "Hey, how are you?" I ask, leaning back on the chair I was sitting in.
"Me? A little bird has chipped that you and Michael are officially together now!" I feel my cheeks go hot, me hiding my face a bit. "IF I WASN'T SO FANGIRLING RIGHT NOW I WOULD SO KILL YOU FOR NOT TELLING ME!"
"Well, I was busy hanging out with Michael, is that excuse good enough?"
"I guess," Maddie laughs, leaning back.
"So, anything new with you?"
"Uhmm, I guess now. I mean, I kind of wish I could make it home, Luke was talking about throwing a party for his birthday. But I have some things to take care of here." I smile, I loved that they talked to each other like that. "But we agreed on just celebrating when I get home." I tried doing everything I could to not just say that Luke - I was close on thinking that he actually loved her - and that Jack was a cheater. Not that it actually surprised me.
"Yeah, and I also have to talk to you about something," I speak, looking down at my hands.
"Oh my god, are you pregnant!?" she exclaims, my eyes widening.
"Oh my god, no! I haven't even had sex with Michael! We've only been, well, dating for a few days."
"I had to ask. But what else would it be?" I opened my mouth, about to say it, when I sighed.
"When you get home, okay? I'll tell you when you get home." I see her studying my face, like she didn't know what to expect. What shouls she expect? Honestly, I would've guessed pregnancy as well.
"Should I be worried?" I shake my head, I didn't want her worrying until she came home, it shouldn't fill up her mind. She would understand once I tell her. And then Luke and her can live happily ever after. "So how exactly did you and Michael become official? I can imagine Michael being a bit hesitating about asking you to be his girlfriend."
"Well, he actually just asked me what we were. I mean, if he got asked during an interview, what he would answer. And because he wanted to know, I guess. So I just made the decision, and said that if he got asked during an interview, just tell them the truth... that his girlfriend is a VS Angel."
