JD's POV
I couldn't help but think about that girl in the 7-Eleven on Saturday as I walked into the school known as Westerburg. I kind of hoped I'd run into her, but that was strange. I never hoped to run into people, more of the opposite. I normally hated the kids at these schools, entitled and cocky and stupid. They'd never know that life is nothing, but everything. Too caught up in their reindeer games to care about more than the next football game. But that girl, damn. I never caught her name, though I had no clue what I'd have done with it.
And then I caught sight of her, and she looked even prettier today than at that damn gas station. With the same purple blazer, she wore a gray t-shirt tucked into a dark gray and black plaid skirt, ornate purple and silver socks, and heels. A big purple bow was tied into her (h/c) hair to match the look. She was practically glowing to me, talking to four other girls, all dressed similar to her but different colors. I immediately had a distaste for them.
"Hey emo, whatcha doin' ogling the Heathers like that?" A boy yelled, stealing my focus from the group. So that was what they called themselves?
"Whatever you do, perhaps? You seem to be the type to stare at girls who hardly know you exist." I smiled cockily at them. I just wanted them to leave so I could admire that purple girl again.
"Two of them are basically our girlfriends, dude." The taller one smiled at me.
"And which are those?" If I played nice, maybe they'd get bored and just leave.
"The yellow one's mine, purple's Ram's." The other one grinned up at me, seeing as I was taller than both of them. I felt my heart sink. So the beautiful one was taken, huh?
"Well, then what about you go kiss them to prove it? I'm done here, I have class to go to." I sounded harsher than I intended. Don't lose your fucking cool, Jason.
"Alright, we will." The one called Ram took the challenge eagerly and marched over. The other followed suit. I watched, letting my face show a fraction of the horror I felt when he talked to the purple girl, sitting next to a red one on top of one of the lunch tables. She put a hand on his chest and smiled, seemingly flirtatiously, but shook her head. He seemed taken aback and glanced at me, and I made sure to look as smug as I felt. He looked back and spoke to her, and her smile faded into a frown as she shook her head again. Couldn't the dude listen?
The other one, on the other hand, got a kiss from the yellow one. That one I cared less about, it didn't involve the true beauty that was the purple one. She even gave me a nickname, so that should count for some brownie points. Mr. Traveler. It wasn't cutesy or extravagant, but I liked it. I liked her. At least, the idea of her.
And then the bell rang, snapping me from my fantasies. I hoped I would have classes with the angel, and thus learn her name. She seemed upset when I talked to her in the aisles of 7-Eleven. She may have just been hangry, though. She had a lot of snacks and left to grab more.
I made my way to my first class, and no luck on her in my class. Ugh.
*Time-skip to after class, brought to you by JD's weird laugh in Dead Girl Walking*
I was finally released from that hell of a class.
I figured I'd skip the next class, seeing the group of brightly color-coded girls slip into the girl's restroom together, probably to skip. That girl was with them, so it's not as if I had hope of seeing her if I actually went to class. So instead I hung out in the cafeteria. Some groups of students were doing the same and no staff came to punish them, so it seemed like it was alright. The lip-gloss brigade pranced in about 10 minutes after the bell, and the lovely one was towards the back.
All the other students looked up to watch as the glided forward to one of the few tables that was actually a booth. Who had to be paid off to make that happen? I apparently was an interesting new figure to look at, seeing as the blue and yellow noticed and pointed over at me. The blue even beckoned me over there, so I took the opportunity and slowly rose to go meet them.
"What's discount Jesse James doing at our table?" The red one snorted.
"I was summoned by your blue friend, actually." I smirked and looked over at her. She was looking up at me with a stupid grin on her face. I shook my head slightly and looked back to the red one.
"Veronica, heel." She commanded and she immediately looked away and sat down, having just stood next to me beforehand. "You a new kid?"
"I am." I just wanted to be alone with the gorgeous purple girl but I guess that doesn't get to happen. The red one growled as she followed my gaze.
"Well, I'm someone to be feared around here, so quit eyeballing my friends here and leave us alone." I would seriously bet her bark is worse than her bite.
"Not until I know everyone's names. Just to quiver after hearing them." I rolled my eyes on the last part.
"I'm Heather Chandler. The yellow one is Heather McNamara, and the green is Heather Duke. You already know the blue is Veronica Sawyer, and the purple is (y/n) (l/n). Now scram." She spit. I smiled and walked away, knowing Veronica was watching. I was just hoping (y/n) was too.
(y/n) (l/n), what a lovely name. I could hear the birds chirp and sing about her already. I just hoped that Chandler wouldn't get in the way. I mean she couldn't be gay right? She was popular and shit, and that hardly translates into a prejudiced group. Right? She might've just gotten in the way by not letting me talk to her.
But she'd better not.
Or else she may just pay the price.
