LULU'S POV
"Princess, I've been thinking." He said.
"About what?" I asked.
"About us." Ashton said.
"What about us?" I asked.
"I was thinking last night that we should get a dog." He said.
"For real?" I asked.
"Yes, for real. Are you opposed to that?" Ashton asked.
"Of course not! But what about your lemon tree?" I asked.
"Why is everyone asking me about that?!" He asked.
"Do you really want me to answer that?" I asked.
"No, but are you in?" Ashton asked.
"Of course! But I've been thinking about us too." I said.
"Yeah? And what's on that pretty mind of yours, babe?" He asked.
"I know we've been best friends for a couple of years and the only thing that's changed about our relationship is what we call each other and that we're more intimate, but do you think we're moving too quickly?" I asked.
"I only asked if you wanted to get a dog with me." Ashton chuckled.
"It's not just the dog, it's how I was about to give you my faith the other night. We haven't even been together a solid week and I was ready for you to take it from me." I said.
He thought for a second.
"No. I don't think we're moving too fast. When best friends date, it's either really awkward or like us. Nothing barely changes. I think you being ready the other night was your choice. I'm just so glad you trust me enough to take your v-card." Ashton said.
I smiled a little bit as he said that.
"Then what are we waiting for?" I asked.
"Excuse me?" Ashton asked.
"There's a dog out there waiting to be adopted by us. Let's go." I smiled.
"Let's do it, babe." He said getting into the car.
We drove over to a local shelter and looked at all the dogs.
This one Boxer caught both of our eyes.
"Ash, look. He's perfect." I said.
"I agree." Ashton said.
We asked about the dog and they let us take him.
After we paid and sat in the car with the dog, we started throwing out names.
"How about Gatsby?" I asked.
The first movie we watched together was The Great Gatsby.
He also hit on me with a Gatsby quote.
"I love it." Ashton smirked.
"Gatsby." I said to the dog on my lap.
