ASHTON'S POV "Did you have fun with your friends today, babe?" I asked.
"Yes! I missed them so much! It can be challenging only having guy friends sometimes." She sighed.
I chuckled.
"I know you love them though." I said.
"Of course I do!" She exclaimed.
I chuckled at her happiness.
Lulu's literally glowing right now.
"I'm not really tired right now. Do you want to go for a late night dip in the hot tub and remake that scene from To All The Boys I've Loved Before?" She asked.
"Of course, baby." I smiled.
"Okay. I'll meet you outside." She said.
As I went downstairs to go meet her outside, I overheard her parents talking.
"Why are we letting her get away with this, Chip?" Nora asked.
"Get away with what?" Chip asked.
"All this dating! I knew we should've sent her to that all girls school in Quebec!" She said.
"Now honey, I think you're exaggerating a little. I know she's our princess and all, but I think it's a good life experience." He said.
Nora rolled her eyes.
"You mean your and the boys' little princess. You never learned to pull out." She said.
"She's fine, sweetheart. Ashton seems like a good kid." He said.
"I'm not going to be there to pick up the pieces when he throws her out like everyone else did." She said.
"Then what are you suggesting?" He asked.
"She needs to learn. I'm going to send Tag with them. Keep a good and close eye on her." She said.
"That's too much." He said.
"But she needs it." She said.
"Why can't you trust our daughter?" He asked.
"Your daughter. I don't want to be a grandma to some random kid." She huffed.
"Alright. I'll talk to Tag." He sighed.
I heard enough and ran out back.
I can't believe Nora would talk about her own child like that.
I got in the tub with Lulu.
I pulled Lulu on top of me and kissed her.
"I love you so much, babe. I'll never hurt you." I said.
"I love you so much too, baby." She said.
"I overheard your parents talking about us." I said.
"What'd they say?" She asked.
"Your mom..." I trailed off feeling sick at what I heard.
"What about her?" She asked.
"Your mom called you an accident because your dad didn't pull out. She refused to call you her daughter. She wanted to send you to an all girls school in Quebec. She thinks I'm going to throw you out. She's going to send Tag back to LA with us to teach you a lesson." I confessed.
"I don't get it." She mumbled.
"Don't get what?" I asked.
"She spent twenty one years telling me she loved me, and then she does all this." She whispered.
"Lulu-" I started.
"No, Ash. I'm having the most amazing time in Canada, but I don't know if I can bare another second looking at her." She said.
"What do you want to do, Lu?" I asked.
"I want to stay. We have another week here. Just not with her." She said.
"We can do that. I'll find a hotel, babe." I said.
"Thank you." She whispered hugging me.
"Of course, baby. Now let's get back inside." I said.
