3 weeks had passed since the night Jason had serenaded me on the karaoke machine, I had apologizing of my own to do that night after realizing I had jumped to conclusions and never actually heard him out. He had come back to my room that night, and we spent the whole evening talking, up until the early hours of the morning. He promised me I wasn't just another fling, he told me how much he actually liked me and how he didn't want to lose me. I told him he didn't have to. We slept in that morning, finally having reached the weekend. I persuaded him to go to the fairground with me and we rode on every single attraction twice, then rented a two-seater tricycle and cycled up the pathway and along the beach front.

Ever since then, things had been sweet. Jason and I had been working on shifts together less but made sure to hang out in the evenings, slowly working our way around every activity the resort had to offer. They made pretty good dates. I guess you could call it dating, no higher level of commitment was discussed since the red-coat party night, and I wasn't sure it would be. I was fine with it though, I gave up caring and just enjoyed the moment.

I brushed my hair into a low bun and looked at my rota for today.

Friday: Lottie and Emily - Carousel

I bit my lip, I was unsure how to feel. This was the first time Emily and I's rota had crossed paths, ever since she showed kindness to me when Grace appeared from the woodworks, no other gestures were given and things had gone back to normal. She'd stopped giving me the death stare every now and then though.

Jason's usual morning knock sounded and I grabbed my jacket off the back of the door and swung it open. He stepped inside and brought his lips to mine.

"Let's go!" He took my hand and we went down to the canteen. I saw Emily already sat down so decided to sit next to her, in preparation to set a friendly tone for our shift.

"Hey." I smiled at her as I sat down. She raised an eyebrow at me, looking confused as to why I was sitting next to her. Then she seemed to have a realization.

"Oh, we're working together today aren't we." She said as if that was the only reason I started a conversation. I mean it was partly true, but still.

I looked over to Jason who was sat opposite me and he was trying to hold in a smirk at Emily's comment.

"Yeah, the carousel, right?" I took a bite of my breakfast.

She nodded.

Breakfast ended without any more conversation between us, this didn't exactly form a good president for how today was going to go. Emily stood up, having finished her breakfast and began walking away. I sigh, I guess I'd meet her there then.

She stopped for a moment, turned around then looked at me expectantly.

"You coming?" She raised a brow.

"S-sure!" I picked up my tray, signaled a goodbye to Jason with him mouthing back a 'good luck', and I followed her.

The ride had a small shed-like control booth for the staff to sit in, all we had to do was let people on, count the amount, then press go. There weren't any proper seatbelts since it was a carousel, so we'd spend most of the day in here. Together. Oh, joy.

"You and Jason seem to be going on well, have you made it official yet?" Emily said casually while inspecting her nails.

I blushed "Official? Oh no, I'm not sure it will get to that, with me leaving in a few months and all." I realized I was babbling, not knowing how to answer because I didn't know myself.

"That view tends to be a habit of the boys around here, they're scared of commitment." She turned to me and smiled "Don't worry, you're not the only one."
