THE morning after that, Daniel followed the same routine. Get up and throw up. But this time, seconds after he bent over the toilet, he felt someone's hand on his back. Daniel flinched at the touch.

Once he was done, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. He looked over to see Jonah beside him on the ground, a look of worry on his face. "Better?" He asked softly. Daniel nodded as Jonah helped him get up.

Daniel brushed his teeth and washed his face. When he was done, Jonah was there to hand him a towel. He thanked him with a small voice. Jonah sent him a small nod.

When they entered Daniel's room together, Daniel saw that Jonah had already brought up his breakfast for him. "You don't have to do this for me every day."

"I told you that I would take care of you," Jonah faced Daniel as they took a seat on his bed. "That's what I'm doing." Daniel didn't argue with him after that. He was extremely hungry and couldn't wait to get his hands on his omelet.

To his surprise, Jonah didn't leave him to have breakfast alone. Instead, he sat in front of him with a cup of coffee. "Can I have some?" Daniel asked politely.

Jonah shook his head, handing Daniel his cup of orange juice. "You're pregnant." Daniel huffed. "It's fine if I drink just a little." He whined. "We're not taking any risks." Jonah shut him down.

"The vitamin C is good for you. Plus I squeezed it for you myself." Jonah said. Daniel gave up, taking a sip of his orange juice that Jonah had put so much effort into making.

"Thanks for what you did back there.... by the way." Daniel spoke up to end the silence. "You're welcome." Daniel felt warmth take over his heart. No one has ever taken care of him while he suffered through his morning sickness.

"It's not much longer until you stop getting sick in the mornings. Just six weeks until your first trimester is over." Daniel was surprised that Jonah knew so much about pregnancy.

"How do you know all that?" Daniel wondered. "I did some research." The younger boy felt a weight being lifted off his shoulders. Jonah wasn't taking their deal lightly. He actually cared.

Once Daniel was finished, Jonah picked up the tray. "I got you a doctors appointment. It's in two days." Daniel nodded at him. He hasn't been to the doctor yet and he really needed to make sure everything was going well.

Jonah then walked off with the tray, but before he was all the way out, he turned to Daniel once more. "Come down and spend the day with us today, don't lock yourself up here." And with that, he left.

Maybe he wasn't going to be alone after all.

These chapters are short af but I'm lazy.
