DANIEL woke up three different times during the night. There was a heavy weight over his chest. He just didn't know what it was.

He looked over at the sleeping Jonah. Daniel let out a deep breath. Everything suddenly made sense to him and he knew exactly what he had to do in the morning.

Daniel felt his heart start to ache just thinking of what he was going to do. He ran his hand over his bump, feeling Riley subtly kick. As if she supported him in his decision. He sighed before crawling over to Jonah and sleeping in his arms one last time.

The next morning, Jonah could tell that Daniel was off. "What's wrong baby? You still mad at me?" Jonah pouted. Daniel let out a deep shaky breath as Jonah kissed up his neck.

"We have to break up." His words cut through Jonah's heart like a knife. The older brunette immediately sat up. "What?" He asked in shock. Daniel shook his head, sitting up too.

"Jonah," he took ahold of his hands. "I got around to thinking last night and... there's a reason why the whole world is against us." Daniel said quietly.

"What reason Daniel? It's just Zach! He's an idiot, don't do this—" Jonah blurted quickly. This whole situation was unbelievable for him. He thought Daniel loved him.

"Just listen," Daniel's voice broke. The tears began to form in his eyes, "we had one fight and I was ready to just up and leave. I can't leave Jonah, I need you."

"I don't understand." Jonah shook his head in disbelief. "If you need me then why are you doing this?" Jonah asked sadly.

"I need you as a father to my child and as a support system way before I need you as my boyfriend, Jonah." Sure it sounded harsh, but that was the truth.

"I have literally no one left. I can't afford my baby her future for the sake of my own pleasure. Jonah, you wanted to be Riley's father way before you wanted to be with me. We just got lucky enough to find interest in each other, but who's to say that it'll last forever?"

Jonah couldn't speak, he was losing it. He felt his heart crumple with every word Daniel said.

"I have to put our daughter's needs before ours. I'm not just a normal teenager anymore. I need to take responsibility, I have to stop being selfish. I can't be with you while not knowing where we're gonna end up. I can't just keep having stupid fights with you that will make me think it's okay to just walk away from you. Riley needs you, and I have to understand that."

"But I... I lo—" Daniel immediately clamped his hand to Jonah's mouth. "Don't say it." Daniel teared up. "Please, no." He broke, Jonah crying with him.

"You and I will get our chance one day. Maybe in a month... a year... or even another life. But for now, Jonah.... its not our time." Daniel concluded.

"I-I understand." Jonah nodded, his tears still streaming down his face. "For Riley." He smiled through the pain. "For Riley." Daniel nodded, smiling with sad eyes.

"Can I just?...." Jonah looked at Daniel's lips one last time. "Yeah," Daniel whispered. "One last time." He allowed his lips to meet with Daniel's sweet ones. It hurt so bad knowing that that was the last time he'd ever feel those butterflies swirling in his stomach.

Jonah pulled away, wiped Daniel's tears, and rested his forehead against his. He couldn't help himself from feeling like this was his punishment for what he did to Daniel back in Vegas.

You have no idea how sad this made me :( no more Donah... for now.
