DANIEL was in his room, just like usual, when Jonah barged in. "Hey Daniel," he smiled. Daniel looked up from his phone. "Hi." He replied.

"Just wanted to make sure that you remember we have your appointment next week." He said. "Yeah, I know." He nodded as he felt the bed dip.

"We're gonna find out the gender you know..." he teased. "I'm so exited!" Daniel exclaimed, running his hand over his bump. "Me too." He smiled.

"Anyways, Jack offered to throw us a gender reveal party." Jonah shrugged. "Um... do you think that's appropriate? I mean... given our situation and all." Daniel trailed off.

"Daniel, just because we're in a different circumstance than another pregnant couple, doesn't mean that we have to do things differently." The younger boy's heart skipped a beat as the word couple slipped out accidentally.

Jonah seemed to not notice as he went on. "I mean you still deserve to have fun with your pregnancy and get the full experience. I hope you know that I'm throwing you a baby shower too."

Daniel looked over at him. "What's the point?" He asked. "No one will show up." He mumbled, his eyes falling to the mattress. Jonah's heart broke at his words. "Nobody knows yet... not even your mom?"

Daniel felt himself go weak at the mention of his mom. He hasn't been able to face them yet. "I can't bring myself to tell her. I'm afraid of her reaction. I don't want her to disown me."

Jonah sat up and hesitantly reached for Daniel's hand. "No matter what happens, I'll always be by your side." He assured, rubbing his thumb over Daniel's knuckles. "Thank you."

"I'll tell Jack to plan that party. Even if it's just the five of us." He said. "Okay." Daniel finally gave in. "Now smile for me." Daniel's eyes immediately went to meet with Jonah's. "What?"

"I don't wanna see that pout. Smile, Riley likes it when you're happy." Daniel couldn't help but smile at the mention of his baby. "And I like it too." Jonah confessed, clouding the air with awkwardness.

Daniel took in a deep shaky breath at Jonah's words. He was starting to get scared. All of these little moments that they were sharing are eventually going to build up into something more.

Donah makes me soft :)
