Episode 29: More

Emily swallowed while she looked up at him. As she struggled to string together a coherent response, Nicholas leaned away and dragged her with him. When they were at a distance out the living room and in the brightly lit hallway, he paused and bent over to heave her across his shoulder.

Wide-eyed, Emily stared at the floor beneath her head and wondered what she had set into motion.

"What are you doing?" She queried, genuinely worried.

"I'm seeing through with my end of the promise," he muttered and kicked open the door to another room.

Stepping into the darkness of it, he then lobbed her off his shoulder.

She felt disoriented, but it quickly faded as she looked around to see that it was his bedroom.

It was the first time she had actually been inside here, apart from when he was drunk, and back then she was unable to get a good look at the place.

The room was black and white with exquisite murals on the wall, painted by an individual who knew what they were doing. The colours were like nothing else in spite of their lack of vibrancy - strong, impressionable and unique.

"Nicholas..."

"Emily..." He drawled in a teasing tone.

Her eyes narrowed.

He looked at her amusingly, "I'm sorry. It's just that you're always doing it. I wanted to try it out for once."

She shook her head at him, the anxiety from before returning as she took in the area of what was his personal space.

Relentlessly, he continued, seemingly determined to ruin her, stepping forward and forcing the back of her legs to hit the lower part of his bed. Emily would've fallen if he hadn't caught her swiftly around the waist.

"Thanks-"

He let go abruptly, making her cry out as her back met the thankfully soft surface of the mattress behind her.

She looked up at him in disbelief.

"What was that for?" She snapped at him.

Truthfully though, she was feeling more worked up than irritated by him.

Nicholas didn't say a word as he crawled on top of her like a predator ready to salvage his prey. She quivered at the determined look in his eyes.

He sat astride her with suggestive eyes as her breath hitched and she laid beneath him immobile.

Nicholas was already looking at her when she glanced up, and their eyes locked as a result. And in that brief moment, Emily was paralyzed, staring at the impossibly handsome man who gazed at her with some unfathomable emotion. His gaze was hot, burning into her, and they were lost for a moment staring at each other.

Holy cow...this beautiful man wants me, she awed, and deep down inside her, sweet joy slowly unfurled like an orchid in the early morning.

"Nicholas."

"Go on, baby." He urged, propping himself up on his arms to have a better look at her.

Emily's body screamed for her to take a cold shower with how on fire she was.

However, she was faced with more pressing concerns.

"I need to confirm something before we continue."

"What is that? Don't tell me you think I'm going to break my promise of not making love to you. I already told you that my self values wouldn't allow me to."
