Episode 56: Paris In The Rain
There was a type of explosion in her brain—the good sort—which carried more possibilities than she was conscious of. There were hundreds of ideas there in that buzz of electricity. They caused her to want to do a thousand more things. She couldn't help it. It was an adrenaline rush the woman hadn't felt in a while as she skipped ahead of the paths awaiting her feet.
Nicholas watched as Emily roamed the Parisian streets like a child in an arcade with a smitten look on his face. Women who were passing by got a couple whiplashes by the mere sight of the handsome man's expression. They wished they were the ones who had been lucky enough to have incited such a reaction from him.
Breathing in the cool evening air, Emily was consumed by the spectrum of colors and the groovy beats of music. A certain store caught her eyes and like a puppet on a string, the brunette felt herself being drawn through the doors. As she adjusted the pair of shades on her face, Emily hovered over the collection of digital cameras. The line up was spectacular and she found herself getting a great idea.
Quick in making a decision of purchase, the final choice was a Fujifilm X-T30 camera.
The store assistant had recommended that getting a nice mirrorless camera was a good start for a beginner photographer. Even though Nicholas was no newbie to this, he was still considered an amateur because he only saw capturing images as a hobby despite holding it dear to his heart. And for that said reason, Emily was excited to reveal this present to him when they returned to the hotel.
They had been touring the busy streets of the city all day long like he had promised after being cooped up in the love cocoon of their hotel room.
After going on a shopping spree, getting some souvenirs to bring back for Chelsea, Talia and Valentina, trying some street food and watching an old movie at a local theatre, they were on their way to have dinner.
Nicholas' eyebrows furrowed as he caught sight of Emily's figure disappearing into a random store. His anxiety didn't get too bad because right at that moment he saw their bodyguard trailing behind her. The woman had a feeling Crush would've ended up somewhere behind her in no time or worse, Nicholas would've, so she swiftly hid the transparent shopping bag with the camera inside her Louis Vuitton one.
On cue, a shadow crept up nearby and she looked up innocently at the muscular man.
"Let's go."
Crush gave her a weird look for wanting to leave the store so promptly because he knew she wasn't the type to enter somewhere in which she had no business. Moreover inside a commercial place like this and not even buy anything. It wasn't hard to realize over the time of knowing her that she didn't like wasting her time in general.
He couldn't blame her though.
Time was a precious thing.
What made it even more so was the fact that it couldn't be given back to one once it was lost.
Not wanting to be in that predicament, Emily hurriedly left the store only to bump into a hard chest.
Whilst rubbing at her forehead lightly, she glanced up to discover none other than the man of her dreams staring down at her with a gaze which reciprocated her sentiments.
"I finally caught up to you." Nicholas announced with plain relief.
"You've got me on a wild goose chase, running around this city looking for you all day. If it hadn't been for Christian I would've surely lost sight of you the moment we left the movie theater."
