Episode 64: Boys' Night Out
Nicholas placed the razor down and dried his face with a towel. He then found himself in his huge closet which for most people would be the size of their room. He put on his undergarments, gaze momentarily wandering down to his hip where he was contemplating getting a tattoo. He always wanted a minimalistic one but never got around to it. After all, he was what people called a workaholic. And these days when he wasn't doing that, he was entertaining his little wife.
The man began to wonder if the beauty would be interested in getting a couple tattoo.
Maybe it would be best to ask her after they had gone officially public and had an actual wedding.
The desire to get inked started after working out and bulking up, determined to be a man rather than the insecure boy he had once been.
After all, he had come a long way from the nerdy, innocent college teen who fell head over heels for a certain girl who caused him to stammer over his name.
Speaking of which, he had heard off the tongue of a close acquaintance the other day that Molly had found herself a new target.
No wonder he hadn't heard a peep from her after that episode in his office where she had practically thrown herself at him.
Guess she was finally getting her dream of being the boss' wife.
Too bad it was to a man almost twice her age.
Ridding his head of unwanted thoughts, Nicholas concentrated on the mission at hand.
Tonight he was headed to the Rose Bar, a popular night spot his friend had chosen, and thanks to his reputation they were able to get in last minute.
Chase Williams had been his best friend ever since the first week of university.
The two boys met due to an unforgettable altercation which included the blond, entitled dick finding it suitable to not do his part of a group assignment. He even stooped as low as trying to pay off another group member to get it done.
After being given enough verbal warnings, Chase hadn't batted an eyelash so Nicholas didn't either as he handed in the final draft - without his name.
The next day, Chase charged up to Nicholas like a bulldozer, swinging his right hook.
Aware of his reputation as a politician's son, Nicholas gained a shit ton of respect from many people when he still swung back in response, knocking the boy out cold.
He hadn't intended for it to escalate that far, only desired to show he wouldn't be a walk-over no matter who the guy had backing him.
Chase was a douchebag but not one that deserved to be laying on the cold concrete like that with a bloody nose.
Out of guilt, Nicholas brought him to the nurse's office. There, he found out that the boy had a good reason why he wasn't able to finish his part of the assignment.
Turns out his mother had been hospitalized due to breast cancer, it had been critical, and he wanted to spend the last moments with her so he had missed that entire week of school.
"You stupid brute, why didn't you just tell me the truth? I would've understood that over being told you tried to pay off poor Sally to do your part!" Nicholas remembered snapping at him.
Chase had been in the most vulnerable state he had ever seen him. Usually a guy like him had a type of aura around them - rich, powerful and unapologetical. That day, he was a dimmed reflection of himself.
After letting bygones be bygones, the two went out for a drink and after that they were practically inseparable.
That was until the day Chase decided he would go soul-searching after finding out his fiancée cheated on the night of her bachelorette party.
