Episode 54: Insatiable

"Let's watch that movie you got a Golden Globe award for."

Emily snatched the remote control from out of his hands and fixed Nicholas into a fierce stare which displayed her unwillingness.

"No way, Jose."

"Come on now. Don't be ridiculous. I just want to see you in your ultimate form."

"Who am I, an anime character?"

He scoffed but was still slightly amused by her sense of humor based on the twitch of his upper lip.

"Let me at least get to critique you from a professional standpoint. I'm not the owner of the largest entertainment company in the country for no reason."

"Way to toot your own horn."

"You love it when I act conceited." He accused seriously making her scowl at him.

"I love it when you keep that gorgeous mouth of yours shut. Like I want you to do right now as I put on Pretty Woman and get into my zone."

Nicholas choked on laughter as the woman dramatically kicked off the bed slippers, propped her legs across his lap before giving her undivided attention to the screen that opened up a classical scene of Hollywood Boulevard.

He squeezed her legs playfully, hard enough to make her yell out and look down at him where he sat.

"Don't ignore me."

"What is your deal? You're the one who suggested watching movies."

"I meant side by side. As I hold you in my arms and maybe even steal a kiss from time to time. Not while you use me as a footstool and fantasize about a guy who's older than you."

"You're older than me." She countered defensively.

"Yes, by only three years. Do you know how old that man is right now?" Nicholas argued, pointing at the main actor who has no qualms about pulling up on the corner stop where the hookers were stationed.

He shook his head at the scene, getting the chills by how cliché it was.

Emily pulled a face which took him aback by the depth of annoyance it had.

"I don't care. All I know is this Richard Gere, the 1990 heartthrob, could get it."

"Could get-" He tripped over his words. "Sweetheart, he's like seventy. Old enough to be your grandfather."

She threw the pillow beside her in his face.

"Shut up."

Nicholas chuckled at how worked up she was getting.

"Okay, I'll stop." He conceded.

Disregarding her eyes that were shooting lasers at him, he leant forward and lifted up her neck to push the pillow beneath it again so she could lay more at ease. She fluffed it with a huff, making it known that he wouldn't be so easily forgiven but had already done so when he'd kept his promise and was silent for the next five minutes.

"But why don't you want me to watch your movie?"

"Oh my god!" She groaned before digging her face into the pillow.

"What?" He asked so innocently that Emily almost believed he didn't know what he was doing.

Almost.

"Nicholas, sweetie," She carefully trodded as she sat up on the couch. "I would rather not have you watch that movie only for you to be doing so for the sole purpose of nitpicking at it."
