chapter 14 Explanation, and relief

Authors note please read. Ummmm, I'm sorry for not writing for a month.😭 Please forgive me. Things have been complicated for the past month though I have no excuse for not writing this month. But I will never drop any story I plan on making and currently this. I don't think this will ever happen again, and i'll try to update way more. If you have any questions about the story or whatever leave comments and i'll answer.

I was looking at the animal in front of me, and I was starting to grasp the concept of what I was saying.

He told me when he was hurt I healed him, but it was a force healing meaning I got injured instead.

He explained how he forced a spirit contract with me. At first I stared at him not knowing what to say or think.

I asked, "What is a spirit contract exactly". He stared at me with his small black eyes. I couldn't read his emotions.

"Well master it's where a spirit beast initiates a contract, and these two beings become connected in a way. I can also help you fight, and protect you if needed. When we become closer we can even read heavy emotions that the other is feeling. There's more to it, but that's some of the basics." He said softly.

I gave him a blank stare, "what's a spirit beast, I thought there was only magical beasts". He looked at him surprised, "well there liked magical beasts with a conscience, they can establish there own contract, unlike humans where they form a contract with  magical beast".

'Hmm interesting', all I could think.

"Why me." I questioned. He replied with, "You had the same look I had when I had given up." He told me softly.

I stared, not knowing how to reply. I had no reason to reply.

He spoke again real softly like speaking to a scared child. " we can view each other's memories, do you want me to see yours and you'll see mine?"

I stayed silent for a few seconds. 'I have nothing to lose even if he sees my real memory.'

I spoke hesitantly, "Okay".

He walked slowly up to me, closed his eyes and pleases his forehead on mine. There was a whisper sound. There was a blue light around us.

Everything went blank. It was black all around me. I had a sense of deja vu. Then there was a light, there was a big screen in front of me. Then it started.

The whole time I watched I didn't know what to think. It showed when he was born. He was a crossroads of two spirit beasts. One fire element, one of shadow. It went through the years. He was feared, but also a treasure to many.

He was born to these two powerful beasts. One had more of the form of a deer, but all fur black with red eyes, but a beautiful contradiction with pure white antlers. She was his mother.

His father had a horse like appearance. His son had the same fur coat as him, Though he could change into a form giving him a red coat making his fire stronger.

As state before spirit beasts could pick there contracter (master, some like to put it) many humans tried to get these amazing creatures to have a contract with them. They were all refused. So these twisted, sick humans decided that these creatures must have hated humans so they were hunted.

It was hard for the family of three but they survived with each other. They moved to different places a lot. It was going well and they let there guard down for one night.

The son was awakened to the sound of fighting. He was hidden under a thick bush. He was questioning what happened when he noticed blood.

He looked up and saw his parents close to each other bleeding out there was the scent of human blood to. There was humans dead and scattered.

He quickly rushed to his parents. They gazed at him with shallow breaths. He was told to stay alive, and try to find someone that makes him feel warm, wanting to protect them.

They told him how much they loved him, and in a blink of an eye they were gone.

He mourned and mourned. He was treated badly by many, he was feared and attacked. It's been years and he was ganged up on by many magical beasts. Leaving him horribly injured. He was about to get the death blow when they suddenly scattered.

He saw a young human boy. He would've attacked but didn't have the strength. He had given up.

The young boy came close to him. What surprises him though was the dull eyes. The eyes of, 'I have seen to much.' The eyes of, 'I don't care anymore.' The eyes of, 'someone who has given up.'

What surprises him more was when he healed him. If was a force heal though. It wasn't a good thing, the human coughed up blood. He for once in his life cared for a human wanted to stop what was happening. I unconscious cried, it reminded me of how my parents sacrificed there selves to kill the attackers and let me live.

With an ounce of determination and wanting to help this child he formed a contract.

The vision had stopped. I opened my eyes, I was on my bed? I looked next to the bed and saw him.

He was looking at me while crying.

" I'm sorry you had to suffer so much". He said to me while crying. He buried it's head on my legs.

I pet his head. I few tears slipped from my eyes. I had to question what part he was talking about. "Do you now about my first-." I was cut off. "Life." I lowered my eyes, "yes."

He looked up at me, "it's okay to cry." I don't know why, but with that one sentence I've somehow always wanted to hear. I actually cried.

I cried, cried, and cried.

It was like a waterfall released from my eyes.

I don't know how long I cried, but when I was done he rubbed my back with his head.

I wanted to ask him a question. "C-can I name you." I asked him shyly. It seemed spirit beasts don't have an official name until they form a contract.

He had sparkles in his eyes. "Yes." He nodded his head while saying that.

I for once in a long time had a real smile on my face. "Your name will be Fai, meaning light.... My light.

I hope this chapter was okay. I know some people may think that Simon just suddenly turned all depressed after the dream he had, but I wanted to show that broken side of him. Other than that well start with a time skip next chapter. Not a big one though so don't worry. The plot starts going it's course next chapter so I hope you'll like it.
