What Lies Beneath

Chapter Five

"You can't be serious Nathan, I mean yeah she looks like Liz but I highly doubt it is her," Jason said.

After Katie had went back to her house Jason and I had just been, in shock I guess you could say.

"I'm not saying she is and I'm not saying there's a chance she is, but you have to admit it's freaky how much she looks like her, even you said she did," I said causing Jason to shake his head in agreement.

"So what do we do now?" Jason asked, looking over at me.

"What do you mean what do we do?"

"Well I mean, you could try and get to know her," Jason said with a look in his eyes I have seen many times before.

Jason has always been to curious for his own good, everytime he gets like this he turns into a detective.

"We are not going to stalk this girl Jason," I said as a mischievous smirk grew on his face.

"I'm not saying we stalk her, I'm just saying that one or both of us try and be friends with her, get to know her and you know just to see if she really is who she says she is."

I sat there staring at my friend like he was insane, on one hand it was a very bad idea but then on the other hand it didn't seem like to bad of an idea.

"And what happens if she finds out the reason as to why we wanna be friends with her?" I asked.

"Oh that's simple."

"Oh yeah? Please enlighten me on this simple idea of yours."

"Well I actually haven't gotten that far," Jason said causing me to shake my head, chuckling at him.

"Good plan there Jason."

"We should invite her to lunch tomorrow," Jason said.

I looked over at him to see he was dead serious.

"Why?"

"Cause she's new, doesn't know any one in the neighborhood, be a good way to break the ice, get to know her, that and what if she really is Liz," Jason said.

"But what if she's not."

"Then we'll know the truth and I guess get a friend out of all this," Jason said shrugging his shoulders.

"Fine but if this goes south your taking the blame for it," I said.

"Yeah, yeah I know."
