Haley stayed for dinner which was cool with me since I needed the company. When it's just my siblings and I, we're all usually in our own space besides dinner where we catch up on our day.
Tonight was different tho, since my brother had his friends over they chilled in his room. While us girls ate together "How was school?" I asked my sister "Cool I guess. Ready for it to be over" she shrugs. I was able to graduate early since I had all my credits, so while it was only December I had already received my diploma and was just waiting to walk. I'd go to school every now and then when I was bored, maybe go to dance classes all day since my dance instructors allowed it.
"Found a job yet?" Kierra asks me "Pshh no" Haley jokes making us all laugh "Stoppp! I'm trying for real y'all. I have an interview Friday, for some receptionist job I know I'll hate." I said I don't wanna work at all. Why can't I just spend my time in the studio making music and writing. I make a nice amount of pocket change ghost writing, and performing locally.
"Mommy gonna be happy to hear that" my sister Kierra says "Yeah I know. Hopefully she'll chill on me for a minute" I said "Can I go to Asia's house? I'll be back before mommy" she says finishing her food. "Homework done? Room cleaned?" I ask her "Yes and yes." She smiles at me "Go ahead but be back here at 10:30 mommy will be here at eleven and you need to be showered and in bed" I tell her.
Asia stayed down the street from us, and they've been good friends for years. My mom didn't mind her going over there so I let her if she asked while she was at work. My sister will be turning sixteen soon and my brother is seventeen, while my 19th birthday isn't for a few more months. Kierra is her responsible and respectful, all my mothers kids are though my brother gets in to trouble every now and then he's a good kid.
Watching her walk down the street, I peak in on my brother Keon and his friends who were playing the game in his room. "Y'all straight?" I ask them "Yeah.. you'll go to the store for me?" He ask "Whatcha need?" I ask him holding out my hand "Just a backwood and a pack of blunts" he says "Mhm I think I still got that box of blunts in my room" I take the five dollars from him "I'll be back, don't smoke without us" I said leaving out knowing Haley would wanna smoke too.
We walked to the store since it wasn't dark yet nor too cold, it was still sunny and breezy for it to be approaching sunset. "Since Kierra gone wanna go to the studio?" She ask me "If moms cool with it, I guess." I shrug, if my mom knows I'm leaving and that Kierra good she'll hold my brother responsible if he leaves her alone or something. Getting what we needed quickly, I sent my mother a text on our way back to the house.
Of course she said it'd be fine but I have to be back before she does and everything needs to be cleaned along with my siblings in bed. They don't necessarily have a bed time because they are teenagers but my mom is strict about being in the house by a certain time, dinner is always at eight or eight thirty and she wants us all at least settled by 11:30. That way when she did work late with us growing up she could have some type of peace, even if we weren't asleep we were in our own space in our rooms but by twelve it was lights out.
