Bright and early Tuesday morning I was outside of the tattoo shop, it was ten minutes before eight o'clock so I was a little early. I got out of my car once I saw David parking in his designated spot "Good morning Keys" he greets walking up to unlock the gate.
"Good morning David. How are you?" I ask as I follow him inside "Good, good. Follow me I'm gonna show you how to open up the shop" he says. Showing me the breaker box and the proper switches to turn in for each machine in the booths "It's really simple as long as you can tell the switches apart" he laughs "Yeah simple" I join in. Afterwards we go to each booth "Here's the general list for the items that should be in each booth daily, sometimes you'll have to stock them and others you'll just add a few" he shows me as he goes on "Now this is simple" I joke making him laugh again "Perfect, then you finish up the last few booths and then meet me back up front?" He ask and I nod.
He shows me the stock closet Incase I need more supplies, before going where ever in the shop leaving me to work. I finished in twenty minutes, meeting him in the front by the reception desk. "Here is your booth" he jokes "Hmm I think I gotta make this more.. me" I say "You're free to make this space you're area, just keep in mind that this is also the waiting and reception area. I don't mind you changing up the decor or even playing a little music but professionalism at all times in this shop is alway expected" he says "Understood" I nod.
The door signals catching both of our attention "Morning" a girl says coming inside with a small suitcase "Wassup Toushai meet Keys our new receptionist" David introduces us. "Hi Toushai" I said shyly "Sup Keys" she licks her lips smiling at me "You in early" David says pulling her attention away from me thankfully before I turn red as a tomato.
Toushai is fine as hell, she had the whole stud look going for herself but the most sweetest face you could imagine. Now I wouldn't say I was gay, but I don't limit who I date I like who I like simple as that. And I think Toushai is gonna be my little job boo, just by the looks and vibes she's giving off while having conversation with David "Keys I got an appointment coming in, you gone show them to my booth" she smirks leaning on my desk.
David shakes his head "Bye! Keys I'm having one of the artist who use to work the desk show you the systems and stuff, she should be in soon." He checks his watch after playfully dismissing Toushai. "Oh she can keep me company" she yells down the hallway making us laugh "Watch her, she's a slick one" David says making me giggle before leaving me at the desk.
I ended up playing around on the computer, downloading my iTunes and connecting my google accounts. Throughout the week I'm going to customize my desk, I like the colors and everything they already have so David doesn't have to worry about me changing the whole reception area. I'm gonna add a few personal pictures and touches and call it a day honestly, the shop has a sort of homely feel to it any.
"Hey... Kehlani right?" Someone pulls up a chair next to me "Hey.. yeah yeah but you can call me Keys" I extend my hand to shake hers "Cool, I'm Tay I work right there" she points at the booth directly across from my area "I'm guess you're who I've been waiting on?" I say taking out my air pods "Yes, sorry I was running a little late this morning. I was actually suppose to open up" she says.
