I was in my moms bathroom taking selfies, while she got dressed for the game. It was going on five o'clock so we'd be leaving soon to make it to my brothers school by the ending of the girls varsity game.
"Come on Lani" my mom says turning out her lights "Gosh just leave me in the dark, what if I bump into something" I whine dramatically "Girl bye here! Ain't like a wall gone jump out you know exactly where everything in my room is" my mom says from the front door.
"Kierra! Let's go or you're going to get left!" My mom yells up the stairs "AND I'M NOT DRIVING" I add because knowing her she'd figure she'd get a ride with me like always "UGH! I'm coming mommy.. wait!" She yells back down as we hear her shuffling before a big boom. "OUCH!" She yells and we bust out laughing. She's so damn clumsy "Don't hurt yourself, we'll be in the car baby" she says with laughter in her voice.
"Ma..." I said once we got into the car, she'd just put on her seat belt and I don't know why but I thought to bring this up now. "Yes Lani?" She says looking at me "Uhh.. when's the last time you talked to Ryan?.." I said and she looks away "Never mind.. if you don't want to talk now, let's talk about it later.." I said not wanting to mess up tonight before it even started. But knowing the conversation needed to be held. Kierra would know something was up when she got in the car anyway if tensions rise.
Running her hands through my hair "It's okay baby. Actually he came by my job today, why'd you ask?" She says "He came to the house Thursday night. That's who was at the door" I say before looking back at her and we let that settle as Kierra got into the car running her arm "Mommy I hurt my elbow" she whines making us laugh again remembering her falling. "You'll be alright boo" I wave her off.
The gymnasium parking lot was packed as hell "You not gone fit" Kierra tease my mom from the backseat "Girl just cause you can't drive don't mean everybody else can't either" my mom jokes maneuvering perfectly into the space "Aha showed your ass" I stick my tongue out teasingly making her roll her eyes. "When you gonna learn to drive girl" my mom jokes with her.
We found a nice little section comfortable for us three and Haley whenever she shows up. "Looks like your brother has a fan club" my mom teases nodding to the group of girls going crazy over him and all he was doing was passing the ball around "Ew!" Kierra says jokingly "He ate his buggers until he was 7" I say to them jokingly and they giggle obviously knowing I'm his sister since I'm always at the games.
Actually I always sit in the area by the cheerleaders and dancers, almost above the home team players in a sense not too far from where we were currently seated actually. The game hadn't started yet, the players were shooting the ball around and warming up.
"Ma I'm about to go sit with Asia and her friends" Kierra says to my mom "Where are they sitting?" She ask her, Asia goes to the same school as my brother "Over there.. by the shot clock" she points over where the school board. We look over and notice a group of girls "Mhm, behave yourself" she tells her noticing the girls feeding off the attention a group of boys was giving them.
