"What do you want from me?" I ask him immediately I'm seated

"Chill, young man" he says letting out a short laugh.

"Just tell me what you want old man"

The man across me looked like he was in his early fifties. He wore a wine lacoste shirt over beige pants. He was also wearing dark shades so I couldn't see his eyes.

"I want you to come with me to France " he says curtly.

"Are you insane?" I ask getting agitated about the topic.

"Your grandfather is dying in a hospital and he wants to see you" my eyes widen at his revelation.

"Grandfather?" I ask in disbelief,  "how come he's still alive?"

"Yes, please agree to this " he says pleadingly

"Hhe-he now remembers me?" I stutter out of shock.

"Xana"

"I chose to forget him too" I say cutting him off as my eyes start to tear up.

"He didn't forget you" he implores softly.

"He did and I did too" I say as I wiped my eyes with my fingers and walk out heading towards the sedan.

Few minutes later I get a call, " I'm giving you one day to decide and when you do call me, your grandfather is running out of time" he says and hangs up.

"Drive" I say not looking at Rashid

He drives slowly to one of the secluded spots we discovered not too far away from town. It's a mini waterfall that flows into a stream surrounded by a lot of trees and hills that make it very inconspicuous. There's a bridge on the stream if you use the other end of the stream.

We come here when we want to get away with what's bothering us and also with the world. It's actually surprising how when we found this place when we were about fifteen we never stopped coming here. It's like our secret hangout.

Actually it was our school's counsellor, Mr. Bennet who brought us here one day when we got involved in another fight, I really had a bad temper and so I'd get into stupid fights and Rashid would always gave my back by joining me. I know it sounds stupid but then he's really a great friend. It got that bad that I'd sometimes create a fight so I could just feel satisfied. Sucks right?

But yeah that was my life.

He parks the car and we get out of the it, taking off our shirts and jeans before we jump into the water. We swim and play in the water for a long period of time before coming out. We then sit on a rock quietly until Rashid decides to break the iceberg of silence.

"Hey man" he calls, throwing a pebble into the pond

"Yeah" I reply not looking up.

"What happened in the car?" He asks looking concerned

"It's my grandfather "

"He came here?"

"No" I scoff "he sent someone over"

"Oh and what did the person say?"

"That I should go to with him to France to meet my dying grandfather"

"You plan on going? "

"I don't know" I rub my face with both palms "I really don'tknow " I sigh, "he just should have died a long time ago"

"I think you should" he says staring at the water.

"Really?" I reply looking at him now,

"One thing I regret is not being there at the time of my grandfather's death" he is now looking directly into my eyes.
