Marseille Reneau would stop at nothing to make sure he gets revenge for his father's death but what would happen when it turns out that his mother is involved in his father's death? The one person he could've sworn loved both him and his father. The...
I text Rian that I'll not be able to make it to her barbecue because I have to go to my house which is out of town to see my mother. Well, it's not like I'm going to visit her, there's something I need her to do for me so and the house is not exactly out of town but then it's quite a distance from Rashid's.
"Rash I'm leaving " I holler
"I'm coming" he hollers back. He's coming with me. So the thing is, I was thinking Martina will just sign some papers to give me sole responsibility of myself. In other words, I'll become an adult before I actually turn eighteen in a few months. I can get my own place, get a full time job, I'll start paying bills and taxes; simply she'll lose her right as my mother and give me full responsibility of myself.
I wait for Rashid in kitchen and he joins me after sometime. We meet Yourri when we both leave the kitchen.
"Are you guys going somewhere? " Yourri asks.
"Yeah" I reply her curtly walking past her
"Can I come?" She asks and i turn around. You don't even kniw where we're going.
"No " I reply quickly, way too quickly
"Wow, geez okay" she rolls her eyes and begins to walk away.
"Wait in case Rian comes around, please tell her that I have an emergency I have to attend to, thank you" I say
"You're welcome " she responds rather confused but I ignore it and walk away.
Halfway during the ride, I feel sleepy so I pull over for Rashid to continue driving. I could not sleep because I was anxious about meeting Martina again so i ended up watching an entire season of Riverdale and then i later watched Cold Pursuit.
My eyes are really heavy and I somewhat have eye bags. My mind is still clouded about my meeting with her. This is not some kind of dramatic comedy in which the mother will be soo excited to meet her son and they'll both hug and stuff. This is the case where both the mother and the son are both not on a friendly basis.
Mother thinks she needs a perfect son, hell there's a lot of sand she should go make 'im. The son thinks he has an unfortunate mother who doesn't give him the happiness that he deserves. Damn! There's lot of sand.
So basically, there's no hugging, it's purely business. I check to see if i have the papers intact and yay! They are. We finally pull through the driveway of the house. After my dad died, Martina sold our house and got a much smaller one; way way smaller than the one my dad bought. It was also almost out of town so you can imagine how I went to school always.
Sometimes when it got difficult, Rashid will have his driver come for me before driving us to school. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. He parks the car in the driveway and I'm the last to get out. We walk slowly to the door and Rashid is the one to knock.
After a series of knocks the door is finally open revealing a young woman, she looked a lot like Martina. Is she my half sister? Damn no! They really look alike, not an exact replica but then there's a lot of resemblance. The brown hair, but she has brown eyes, tan skin. My eyes travel to the dog she's holding, it's as if the dog is begging to get out from her grip.
