Menagerie Part 2: Embarrassment

Adrian saw us before we could react.

He walked to us with his arms extended outwards.

Adrian, like every other clan member didnt use his accent or language outside of his house if they didnt live in Menagerie.

Its one of our many customs.

While me, Jacqueline, and Malis were ranked as Young Wolves, Adrian counted as a Direwolf because he was a Huntsman.

He was also the oldest child, at age twenty-six.

We ran up and quickly hugged him

Adrian: Conner! Is that you? I haven't seen you in forever!

Me: How do you think we feel?

Malis: I didnt even know you were coming!

Adrian: I waited so it would be a suprise!

Jacqueline: Well we are glad your back!

Adrian: Where is Nera?

Malis: Back at the house, playing with the kids.

Adrian: As suspected.

He looked at me and must've noticed my weapon on my belt.

Adrian: Whats this?

I handed it to him

He grasped it by the handle.

Hit hit the button and it unfolded into Broadsword form.

Adrian: My my my. This is impressive. I heard about your little incident with the Fang and how you got stuck at Shade.

I cringed

He looked me in the eyes

Adrian: Why aren't you going back?

He was confusing me.

Me: What?

Adrian: You once told me that violence isnt the answer. But then you go off and join the Fang. You dont want violence but you go with the ones who encourage it. A Huntsman is a true freedom fighter.

He folded it back into Gladius form and put it in my hand and closed my fist.

Adrian: Consider it.

He rubbed my head.

Malis: C'mon. Lets get back to the house.

That night we sat to eat dinner with most of the family.

Alot of my siblings like to go out and eat even if food is cooked at home

The only reason Nera accepts that is because she gets to save money.

But we had Adrian, Malis, Azure, Marina, Jaylan, Jacqueline, Nera, and me.

In other words, dinner was much cheaper than usual.

I wished my Father was here.

He is a Huntsman who found his way to the Rhylex and joined the Legion in the war.

Right now he is one of theyre Colonels.

That war seems to be what everyone is talking about nowadays.

Adrian: Hey Nera?

Ok. Let me get something straight.

Adrian calls her by her name because he had a different mother.

Nera is my Fathers second wife.

The first one cheated when Adrian was two but Father got custody.
