"Are you picking a fight with me, wolf?" the figure in the full hood, Exterminator, grumbled, voice stoic.
He clutched his shoulder, wincing from the phantom pain in the ripped, red and glaring gash.
It wasn't real, he had to remind himself, it'll disappear when I wake up.
"I'm rather in a foul mood," the wolf, Dream-Eater, growled.

『EXTERMINATOR』 your turn!
Use「 Arm of Robigus 」?
YES ⋆ NO

Exterminator seethed, angered, "you're the only madman willing to fight,"
he muttered spitefully,
"are you not scared of the pain?"
"Pain?" Dream-Eater could've laughed, but he merely scoffed, "you do not understand. I don't do this for pleasure-- I do this out of hunger!"
The wolfman was riled, but it could not make another attack before his opponent did.
Exterminator held off his attack, not a man of battles to begin with.
But why-- hunger?
"Hunger?"
"I'm starved," Dream-Eater sounded almost sorrowful, "because of this accursed Flavour Text, human food no longer fills me. I can only hunger, in pain, until I eat!"
Exterminator's fists gripped almost instinctively, as if the situation hit home... and it hurt.
"Dream-Eater,"
he was sympathetic, "I suppose you represent your name."
"Exterminator," the wolf growled, "if I defeat you-- I may be released from this agony."
Now, Exterminator stopped.
"Why do you say so?"
Why was Dream-Eater pulled forward by another desire-- to defeat another player? Was it not just to fill his hunger?
"So you have not heard?" Dream-Eater grinned,
"no wonder you aren't fueled to battle against this injustice."
Exterminator didn't like this situation.
Dream-Eater was a smug, taunting character, and the sly wolf look wasn't helping.
What hadn't he heard?
"If I become the winner of this game, I'll be free!" Dream-Eater declared, loud and proud,
"from this starvation, from this endless hunting!
I'll be liberated!"
Free.
Free?
Exterminator froze in place, taken aback.
Freedom, that was the reward for victory? Such a simple thing?
No-- they were pulled into this, and now the only way out was to play with it? Like hell he was going to play right into the culprit's hands!
"Who told you that?" Exterminator scowled, unbelieving, "you believed them?
Are you an idiot?"
Dream-Eater gritted an annoyed grind of teeth,
standing upright in an unfazed facade.
"You may believe whatever you wish," he frowned, "these were the words of a player I met in the wilderness."
In the wilderness. Somewhere, in an unknown location.
