Scarlett

It all happened in a heartbeat.

One second Laura was living her lies, the next, she was paying the price for them.

"Laura!" The police officer yelled. "Come out this instant!"

He held in his hand a gun. It didn't have a trigger on it, so it was fake.

Probably.

We followed the police officer until we reached a room we hadn't opened yet.

The door creaked as we opened it. Inside we found Laura, looking through cabinets until she found what she was alas looking for.

Her gun.

"Get down!" The police yelled. "Get out! I'll handle this!"

Running through the house with Ashton holding my hand and Kevin covering Amelia's head, we escaped.

Once we were on the front lawn, we heard a gunshot.

Followed by three more.

The screams were horrific as we heard Laura yell, "I'll do it! I will!"

About ten minutes later, the police officer had her carried into his arms. Her battling to get out.

Laura was screaming, crying, doing everything in her power to get out of the man's hands.

She got into the police car, her face looking dead. Focusing on one thing.

Amelia.

We went back to our house, the whole way everyone was silent.

I think I can say for everyone that the flashbacks lingered in the back of our eyes, popping up when least expected.

And when least needed.

I opened the front door, and with instinct, we all went to the living room and sat like before.

Scarlett next to me, and across from us, Kevin next to Amelia.

"I...might have a conclusion to this." Amelia said, almost whispering.

Everyone kept quiet, waiting for her continuation.

Waiting for someone to at last, open our eyes.

(Disclaimer-Mental Illness Part)

"She might have a mental illness."

My heart sunk. The girl who I'd first watch dance on the side of the street, could be..mentally ill?
